Welcome to BoS! I'm not too sure about the rules here but it's not advisable for you to put BOTH your name and your store name here because you can be identified.
During your induction, you should have received a packet informing you about your in-store training. When you go for that, you'll...
Hah, I know exactly where you are too! :) Starts with a "b" doesn't it? Mine is the next nearest to babikakez' uni. ;) ^_^. And I go her uni as well lol.
Oh thank god, so I'm not the only one! The website loads very slowly for me, but I don't get errors.
Replying to the service cashier thing, if the store's really quiet, the supervisors sometimes ask you to face the shelves (I've done it before and it happened quite alot during late night...
Sorry for your loss Brooke. Hope you're coping well.
As to the WA trading hours, they're thinking of having Sunday trading but past experience has found that no one really comes in anyway. Only Fremantle and the one in the city are open on Sundays in the metro area. All others are closed.
Yea I once gave a customer about $300 in cashout. The customer after the next wanted like $250. Then my till was near empty. Next guy comes and wants cashout, had to tell him I had no money. That guy got pretty pissed off. And yea, we've got an ATM in our store too but it's only an ANZ one. I'm...
With regards to cashout, I don't really know what to answer customers who want big amounts. I tell them the limit's how much I have in my drawer. I've had a few who wanted $1000. Go to a bloody bank lol.
What's a drill down? I never lift the 30pk cartons if I can help it. I tell the customers to put it back into their trolleys. Can't they have some sign at all counters that says no lifting of heavy items eg. coke cartons, dog food, 24pk water (way worse than the 30pk cartons IMO) etc? You'd...
Take your stuff out of your shopping baskets, idiots. My job is to check your stuff out, not take your stuff out of the basket.
After I worked at Woolies for awhile, my cousin (who used to work at a lotto kiosk) had a great chinwag about how annoying customers are hahaha! He absolutely cannot...
I count the change as I take it out of the drawer. Customers asking for larger amounts of cashout...I normally recount it one more time to make sure I get it right.
I especially hate it when customers (especially Asian ones and I'm Asian lol) give you money and then after you open the till...
Mine was pretty ok today actually. I'm not exactly sure if we've got holiday rates today but if so, YAY! Only had one shitty customer today...my second customer of the day. Kinda scolded me for putting heaps of stuff on top of her potatos. It's only a bunch of grapes, woman! PAH. Rest of my dad...
It's scary how much they buy for the holidays. Some of the guys here are right...you'd wonder if they're storing their food just because it's closed for a day. I once asked a lady at Xmas time last year when she bought her leg of ham (which was humongous). I asked her how long it would last her...
OH&S regulations? Cool, I'll use that. Yea, every checkout operator has back pain. It's impossible not to after standing in one position for so long!
Yea, all my supervisors have been telling me that tomorrow is the busiest day of the entire year, worse than Xmas eve. Looking forward to horror...
Yea but even though sometimes I tell them that they can place the carton at the end of the checkout, they give me this face or else they refuse to do it until the end of the entire shopping which screws up my belt cuz it will not move. There should really be a sign or something telling them that...
Yea I know about the 18/30pack of canned drinks. I tell customers normally to leave them in the trolley because I've got a code for it. Normally, most will do so but occasionally, I get one or two who'll tell me that they've still got stuff underneath. What do I do? I used to let the belt come...
How did the meat go past the scanner? I don't know about coles but for woolies, the meat's got some security tag on them and if it's not scanned, the alarm at the checkout goes off. Heck, it even goes off sometimes when the meat's scanned lol.
Preferbly, you should have a job where counting money is not a job requirement considering what you did. Who knows if you'll be tempted to do it again? Take the advice from the people here. We hope you've learnt your mistake although why the hell you would steal money and give it to your friend...
Haven't seen it yet but my sup says that Thursday will be the busiest day of the year, even worse than Xmas eve. And I already thought Xmas eve was madness! I'm only working 930-1 on Thursday, pity I'm not working more and another 5.5 hours on Saturday. And yea, I also want to know if we're...
