I agree. Just do what Omium says because you'll be doing all your core courses in first year anyway and you'll only have 2 electives to do this year. So 'if' you are still keen to do liberal studies whenever you can transfer, then do the smart thing by just doing commerce major electives...

Why do a single major when you can do 2? Nobody does a single major nowadays. Marketing is pretty defined in terms of what your career paths will be. Don't do it because everyone else says its easy. Management is a bit too generic for a major. Specialise a bit more by doing HRM or...

Why does it matter? If you want to use a laptop at university, go ahead and bring one. We have free wireless and plenty of plug outlets all over the buildings. Otherwise, our faculty has about 4 computer labs as well to choose from.
