I use whatever blue or black pen comes to hand for writing notes etc;... but ballpoint coz I always smudge using those felt tip ones. For exams I use those Dr Grip ones... wish they were cheaper (or I knew where to get refills...)

I remember hearing somewhere that for the best possible outcome, the gap between the top person and the bottom person should be as small as possible... but that could be total crud.

I know exactly what you mean... I felt exactly the same way after my first week of Year 11. I guess one of the most important things to remember is that you are NOT examined on Year 11 content in the HSC, with the exception of Maths courses and some others which I can't remember. I may be wrong on this, but don't you have to do English Advanced and not Standard if you want to do Extension 1? To do the extension course you would have to swap over to the Advanced 2 unit course as well. My personal advice to you is, don't let other people talk you into doing HSC subjects...

Hey, are there any ER fans out there? What did you think of the first episode of the season? Personally, I think this season looks to be better than the last one. It seems like most of the loose ends from last season have been tied up and the characters look like they're going good places.

I'm pretty sure the actress who plays the new Bridget played Megan in The Young and the Restless. I saw her on the cover of a soap magazine this morning and it took me about ten minutes to figure out which show I'd seen her in before.

You don't wanna burn yourself out! I did approx 3 hrs per night in Year 11. Didn't do more coz I had no frees and no more hours in the day. In Year 12 I did bout 3-3.5 hours per night, plus an extra hour in my daily free. It's important to keep a balance!

14 units in Year 11 involves a lot of effort. Speaking from personal experience, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, it means that you have to do more work than your classmates in less time. I did 14 units in Year 11 and I think it's part of the reason why I didn't enjoy that...
