yeah while i led you through all this trouble to get accurate info out of you im not the best at estimates bc im not in y12 yet. although i think this is enough info to get maybe someone else to give you a decent estimate

so internal ranking basically means they arrange your overall mark and rank you within your school cohort at the end of y12. so while your internal rank matters it only counts for 50% of your final hsc mark which is your internal mark. here is a useful video that i send to literally everyone...

to answer this question you while you will be ranked second if you perform really similarly to the person who is first in the hsc or even beat them it wouldn't affect you that much. and on top of that you are second not last, unless your cohort is tiny, so you are still in a favourable position...

sorry ig i was a bit vague. ill give you an example. eng adv - internal mark 92%, rank 20/160, number of band 6s in 2023: 60 so what that tells us is that this person is at a mid band 6 level (bc of the internal mark and the high rank) and that a band 6 is very achievable for them bc last year...

its hard to tell bc we dont know if youre ranking well but your whole grade is failing or not. if you included a rough estimate of your internal marks and how many band 6s your school gets each year for each of your subjects you'll get a proper estimate

yes the stakes for early entry are lower than you might expect apparently. you dont need straight As and could maybe get away with no As if you do harder subjects is what i heard. feel free to correct me if im wrong

in case anyone else is trying to get an atar estimate based on prelims or their school is giving them one, atar estimates based on y11 marks are bs. y11 is not an accurate estimate of y12 performance, often people end up locking in for y12 and end up doing much better. don't know who needs to...
