Hey!! So, i havent been doing too hot this year. But look, is what it is…ill still try my best!

I saw a post similar to this earlier, and now i have similar questions!

I got my ranks back and, its not horrendous, aside from history extension (REGRET TAKING IT SOB SOB)…i think much of this has to do with how BAD BAD BAD my trials were. Ah. I am a silly goose.

But heres where i stand:

English Advanced: 9/35

English Extension 1: 3/7

History Extension: 4/4 (HELP)

Chemistry 2/5

Modern History: 11/20

Visual Arts: 1/25 (WOOOOO)

Im mostly worried about history extension and english i think….i care a lot about english, and i really wanna try and do much better. And for history extension…well i mean i just kinda feel bad, IM SORRY MR O!! Im practicing a lot to try and make up for it in externals…

Anyway, based on these results, is an atar in the 70s range still possible? If i presume i do slightly better in the externals.

Thank you :)

its hard to tell bc we dont know if youre ranking well but your whole grade is failing or not. if you included a rough estimate of your internal marks and how many band 6s your school gets each year for each of your subjects you'll get a proper estimate

Ahh ok! For rough estimate of internal marks, do you mean my letter grade? I hope thats what you mean, sorry ahh!!

For visual arts: A (24% got an A, 24% got a B, 36% got a C and 16% got a D)

For english advanced: B (nobody got an A, 40% got a B, 54% got a C and 6% got a D)

For extension history it is. T e r r i b l e. I got a D. Once again, my sincerest apologies to my teacher. I got a D, with someone else getting a C, and the other two students getting a B

For Chemistry, i got a D, but we all did. Except for one student who recieved an E.

For extension 1 english, i got a C. 71% of us got a C, 29% got a B.

and for modern history, i got a C. 5% got an A, 55% got a B, 35% got a C and 5% got a D.

So, hm. Year 12 has not been very good for me…ah.

And for band 6/e4s! This was in 2023…

1 person got an E4 in extension english
1 person got an E4 in extension history
1 person got a band 6 in visual arts

i hope this is correct/what you meant! Ahh!!

sorry ig i was a bit vague. ill give you an example.

eng adv - internal mark 92%, rank 20/160, number of band 6s in 2023: 60

so what that tells us is that this person is at a mid band 6 level (bc of the internal mark and the high rank) and that a band 6 is very achievable for them bc last year their school had 60 band 6s in that subject so hypothetically they would be in the 60 ppl that make a band 6 due to their rank

Is the internal mark the percentage of people who got the same grade as me?

omg sorry im so dumb what i mean by that it just your mark lol, like whatever you said was an A, you have to be more specific as to if its like a 90% or an 85% or whatever

Sure! For some reason we dont get that in our reports, so i cant give you an accurate answer for that, because genuinely i have no idea. So sorry, thats probably why i was so confused!

and theres a couple instances where i have unfortunately lost my assesment result, it isnt stored anywhere digitally. So thats going to make it a bit tricky…im so sorry ah!

Hello! Im back! I tried to get some percentages for you :)

these are based on semester 2, one being an assessment, the other being trial papers!

Chemistry: internal mark average is 53%, rank 2/5, nobody got a band 6 last year

english advanced: average is 78%, rank 9/35, nobody got a band 6

Extension 1: Didnt do the best this year, i dont have my mark for my assesment and i can’t remember my trials but it wasnt anything over 40% i dont think. Rank 3/7, one person got a e4 last year

Extension History: VERY BAD. Ahh, i estimate 10% honestly. One person got an e4 last year. Rank 4/4

Visual arts: 90% ish, 1/25, one person got a band 6 last year

modern history: 56%, rank 11/20,nobody got a band 6 last year

i hope this is what you mean! Ahh!

Your internal marks mean absolutely nothing, just ur rank and it's all about how everyone in ur class performs in the external exam. A 70 can be very achievable if you and your class pulls through for the HSC.

yeah while i led you through all this trouble to get accurate info out of you im not the best at estimates bc im not in y12 yet. although i think this is enough info to get maybe someone else to give you a decent estimate
