im not that sure about your exact question but i thought typically schools try not to rank ppl the same to avoid this happening. in my school they look at the decimal places of your weighted mark to distinguish so do you have the EXACT same mark as the person tied with you down to the decimals...

but it really just depends on how their waitlist is doing and stuff ngl, sometimes ppl do get offers late in the year bc some people get in and reject or drop out of the waitlist but in september you'll have your results and promising candidates are interviewed
