Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you?

Re: Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you for everyone prepared to travel around the city, we still only have a choice of one of any type of school so the decision isn't really a decicison. we try to get as far up this list as possible...

it was an act of kindness since beating the bell curve for general will scale up and do more good than sitting at the bottom of advanced and being scaled down. i had my first general maths lesson today, also my first with one of our school's resident Marist Brothers, and he started by saying if...

    Subject Selection Help.

i definately think history is worth your time if you're good at it, but don't switch one of those sciences to fit it in. they will definately help you for medicine. and religion both scales well and is a complete bludge. you said you're in a catholic school so you should already know the basics...

Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you?

Re: Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you when we were all at primary school, the teachers and parents would talk about "Clemente" as if we'd already signed up. by years five and six the teachers were saying "the Clemente teachers won't spoon feed...

maybe you'll feel better being ahead of the class. i know i would if i hadn't hit the wall in the last weeks before exams. and my maths score still makes me want to cry. or throw up. i can't decide which. thank god i was able to find our dean of studies in time to drop. they've politely kicked...

i guess our strategies are the same:drop to reduce stress and work a bit harder to beat the bell curve. i also need to beat the bell curve for drama (difficult with group work) and study like hell for chemistry. at least bio and religion are going well. now that i've had two weeks camping around...

my mum spent so much money taking my sister and me around New Zealand so of course i couldn't just sit in the van and study. i was exhausted one night and got told off for not swimming in the thermal pool while i could. i spent the whole time they were gone under the shower anyway lol: it was...

sorry, i'm not Riley Finn, so i don't know enough people at your school to work it out. i'm a student at St Francis Xavier's College but i'm only catholic when it comes to my enrollment forms and my mum working in the library. and sorry for the slow response: i was camping in New Zealand for...

Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you?

Re: Did you choose the High School you now attend or did your Parents force it on you is there an option for "neither of us 'chose' it"? i had minimal problems so i just stayed in the catholic system and was moved along automatically with our "zoning" system. our files are sent automatically to...

    Churches allowed to discriminate

it is one of the jobs of the government to try and make our country as safe and accepting a place as possible for it's citizens (ie us). it's just like kindergarten: if you steal someone else's toy you get in trouble, and through that you learn you shouldn't take other people's property. the law...

hey thanks for the blog comment. i didn't end up handing that up to my teacher for marking because it got close to the due date and my romantic piece already got full marks. i wish i had becuase it would have been good to compare it's mark to my class. it's only in two parts because it wouldn't...

do you mean the sam thingy or a thread somewhere? i need to wait for my religion marks first. our school says they're changing the way it's marked so it won't take forever next time, but they can't help that all religion teachers teach other subjects

i'm not dropping maths. my parents think i'll have no future and that free periods are a waste. i want to learn it, i just have no motivation to work outside of school. the excuse i keep giving is headaches and tiredness due to anaemia and anxiety related sleeping problems but i know i'm just...

congrats :) i'm so jealous. i got 24% for maths :( and it came with a strong reccomendation from the coordinator to drop down, the just-get-out-now-and-stop-wasting-my-time sort of reccomendation. i got 44% for chem but the course average was only 51.5% and i've gained since our last test...

waking up makes me want to set a piece of writing on fire unless it's done carefully. i'm not going to go out of my way to be dark and cynical but i've develloped a pretty sarchastic/ironic humour from my family and feeder school. four years there and anyone would go crazy. for preliminary i...

    Churches allowed to discriminate

just an open question to everyone out there posting religous views in this thread: would you find this acceptable if i did this based on my own religion, where i claimed myself as a godess who came from a supernatural dimension to redeem the human race? if you're thinking no: well then leave...
