Let people aspire to do what they want lol, there is no logical reason apart from not wanting competition that u would be irritated or upset by heaps of people wanting to do it
it is in terms of residency etc. afaik
but many specialties are quite competitive so in terms of getting to a particular consultant job, that is quite difficult
Tbh u should get the hang of cannulations pretty quickly by the time u have gotten a few hours on the ward doing them
The supervisor from my anaesthetics rotation taught me a lot better than any textbook teaching but tbh i think med schools now are shifting towards that more practical focus anyway
