Re: 2015 HSC Economics Marathon Hmmmmm. I wonder what the marking guidelines suggest. Yeah not too sure it's worth using acronyms markers might not recognize at HSC

    HSC 2015 Economics Marathon

Re: 2015 HSC Economics Marathon lol. I don't see where you're pointing out any flaws in my answer. I will concede that in the medium-long term an appreciation will mean increased imports eventually seeing the currency depreciate, eventually leading to an improvement in international...

    HSC 2015 Economics Marathon

Re: 2015 HSC Economics Marathon Increase in ToT - more imports can be bought with every level of exports - implication is that export prices have risen, meaning less internationally competitive against producers whose prices have not changed, though this may not necessarily be the case if...

    Personality section

Use some of the narrative from part a as evidence in part b? Yes. Write the same answer? No. As others have correctly pointed out, part a is straight narrative (a hangover from the old personalities modern history course prior to 2001) whereas part b is largely evaluative. As such, unless...

    How would this hypothetical work

Not really sure what this last sentence means, are you asking why Bam does poorly externally? Bam would receive 93 assessment mark giving him 87 HSC mark. Ham will probably receive an assessment mark of 92 giving him an HSC mark of 93.

I did forget to mention, you do need to memorise for core, there's no way around that.

    Memorizing essays

For personalities it's not so much about memorisation (as the markers don't necessarily care for tonnes of quotes) as it is about understanding the debates and forming views around the key themes. You are correct to an extent in saying that there aren't a huge number of things they can ask for...

    Memorizing essays

I don't know enough about Trotsky to pronounce on whether he somehow defies the laws of reason and fits all questions with the same essay, but this sounds like a bad idea. There's still a couple of weeks before the Modern exam, plenty of time to not commit ATAR suicide in.

    Memorizing essays

Part A I would say there's no harm. If they ask straight "outline rise to prominence" you're set, and if they ask for three important events you can just pull them from your prewritten answer. Part B I would recommend against rote learning essays as a strategy, let alone rote learning one essay...

Subject selection (4u english with 6 other units)

This is true, but it used to be (I think it may still be the case) that there could be a band's discrepancy between the two markers without a remark. That is, one marker could give you 25 and another 40 and you would just get 32.5 with no third marker even coming into it.

What? If someone else writes an essay for you and you use that essay in an exam, that is plagiarism. At least you're not still doing it I guess.

How to get a band 6 in essays

I'm failing to see the connection here. If you have a maths tutor, the aim is to improve your skills with individual help, not have them do the work for you. The maths tutor can't walk in and do your general maths exam for you.
