    Comm/Law - Quant Methods

I think it is outdated. The handbook's page for ECON1203 still mentions stuff about 'Summer School'.

    Comm/Law - Quant Methods

I'd suggest doing ECON1203 anyway, because according to the handbook, we'll still have to do ECON1203 in the second semester anyway, so I assume if we had to do some other subject in the first semester, we can just make up for it in the second. Also I got told ECON1202 isn't a pre-requisite...

    Comm/Law - Quant Methods

I'm not too sure, but it shouldn't make a difference should it? I mean, it has nothing to do with our law degree does it?

    Comm/Law - Quant Methods

Yeah that's what's confused me as well. But like I remember at the Open Day - we were told Quantitative Methods A was no longer a compulsory subject, so I went stuff it and chose Quantitative Methods B. Also btw, thanks for all above who gave help. It's most appreciated.

    Comm/Law - Quant Methods

Hello, I was doing my timetable and I accidently typed in ECON1203 (Quant Methods B). Since I'm a first year, would I have had to have done Quant Methods A first as a pre-requisite? Or can I interchange and do B first?

    HSC plus problem :(

I'm not sure about the other universities, but at UNSW (according to one of the recruitment staff at the open day), all ATARs are capped at 99.95 - no matter how many HSC Plus, Educational Access Scheme or AAA Scholarship points you get.

    Confused

Recommended knowledge is content which would help you grasp the contents of your course, but you don't have to know it. Assumed knowledge is content which the university won't teach, but assumes that you already know it (usually it's needed to understand and grasp concepts - e.g. many math...

Are there any aspects of 2 Unit that won't be tested in the 3 Unit exam?

Quartic Polynomials can be tested, but I highly doubt it will - and if it was, I think it wouldn't be in the early questions. As for trig graphs, you may need to use trig graphs directly to solve a question. In my opinion for Harder 2U - you'd be most likely to get a hard curve sketching...

    Which Major?

Thanks to everyone for their input. It seems that accounting & finance seem to be the best options for me. I don't think I'd do actuarial - purely because I don't want to be an actuary and I don't think it'll give me any more of an advantage.

Yet another UNSW vs USyd Thread.

Thanks Frigid. The UNSW page clearly looks a lot more appealing with all the statistics. Also, judging by your post - did you do your LLB at UNSW?
