    2009 Trial HSC Exams Discussion

Haha nah. The Arnolds stopped writing it last year. I don't think it would be a conflict of interest though. Like my Maths Coordinator co-writes it now, but maybe that's because he doesn't teach 4U this year

    2009 Trial HSC Exams Discussion

Agreed. I loved the DeMoivre's question and the Rectangular Hyperbola. They came out so nicely. The last question of integration got me thinking, I didn't think they worded it well at all. Didn't like the Curve Sketching though.

    2009 Trial HSC Exams Discussion

I did the CSSA 4u paper. Only got the first bit of the circle geometry, guessed the sequence Harder 3U question. Overall not a fail, but I'm not expecting anything too great, which was kind of expected since our Maths Coordinator co-wrote it and from all the exams I've sat which he's wrote -...

past HSC: did you flunk trials but managed to do well?

I'm not sure if you understand me correctly. I DID experience it. I didnt do well in my trials and I got a band 6 HSC mark. I don't know if you know this, but your UAI is generated by your HSC marks, which is made up of school and external examination marks.

past HSC: did you flunk trials but managed to do well?

I haven't gotten my UAI yet. I just accelerated Mathematics, so I did my HSC for that specific subject a year early.

past HSC: did you flunk trials but managed to do well?

Re: Trials fail = goodbye band 6? Same here with me and 3u english. If I was a scaling-orientated person, I would've kept it because it scales well, although some could say that my choice to replace it with 4U maths would've been scaling orientated :p

What Did People Think Of CSSA Business exam ?

+1 Most textbooks don't even specify the other formulas that have been mentioned. I know that because my teacher uses two textbooks and I use my own book and I haven't seen any other formulas for gearing except for debt/equity. Also, with presenting your answer, I think I'd have to take a bit...

past HSC: did you flunk trials but managed to do well?

I got about 70% in the 2U Trials and a pretty average ranking I ended up with a Band 6, and this was the year which my school dropped heaps in ranking.

What Did People Think Of CSSA Business exam ?

1.35:1 is another way of expressing 135% Usually it asks for a ratio, however in the industry average it was expressed as a percentage, so they would accept both. I'm hoping I get 95-100. I can't see any questions which I've gotten wrong so far, so I think my essay and report will determine my...

What Did People Think Of CSSA Business exam ?

I thought it was a pretty easy exam. I managed to finish mc + short answers in 45 minutes and was able to write 3 booklets for the essay and 3 booklets for the report at slow pace. I really liked the essay question, (I did 28). Also, with the gearing question, I'm sure they'll pay you if you...

I think I did alright, I liked the extended response (did question 28) - thought the topics linked well. Short response was pretty good as well. How did everyone else think they went?

    2009 Trial HSC Exams Discussion

I thought the CSSA papers had nice questions for some electives, but my electives weren't as nice. Also for Module B, I kinda got screwed for time because they asked for three essays specifically (George Orwell). Wrote about the experiences of human advancement and the experiencing of the...

    Choosing Business Studies

Hey mate, I was in the exact same situation as you, only I didn't choose Engineering Studies and I replaced Economics with Business Studies. My advice is - Software Design and Development - IS NOT WORTH IT. To answer your questions: 1. There is more group work in Software Design & Dev, then...

    Legal Studies or Business Studies?

I can't really comment on legal studies, however I'd highly recommend business studies. Content isn't difficult to understand and if you liked Year 10 Commerce, Business Studies is basically an extension of that.

Is it possible to sit for the CSSA 2009 after the dates placed?

For the CSSA papers, according to my school, if a subject clashes, then students will have to sit one exam paper before the actual date - however that student is then in what we call 'lockdown' where the student is not allowed to communicate with anybody - that's the only way a school is allowed...
