Dropping extension english or 4 maths?

Both are demanding courses, but 4U maths will probably be more beneficial scaling wise. It really depends what type of a person you are - a maths or an english person.

    Big Bang & 2Ne1 - Lollipop

Wow, well that was uhh... different. I gotta say Big Bang did a lot better with their other songs like Haru Haru... maybe their minds don't work properly when they're working with girls.

    2008 HSC School Rankings

Re: Top 200 Schools - Daily Telegraph LOL, just being a bit picky here, but comprehensive schools can also refer to private schools which do not base their selection on academic performance.

    ticks and marks

Ticks represent when a teacher agrees with your points or think they are valid. They don't determine how many marks you achieved, as marks are all criteria based.

Is hsc English a real subject?

As much as I am a maths person, HSC English is a real subject. I mean if they let subjects which require huge amounts of bullshit like Visual Arts and Music be considered real subjects, then I can't see why English isn't, which contains far less bullshit.

can u get a UAI 90+ with weak english

Re: 回复: Re: can u get a UAI 90+ with weak english "Me think is not very good selective school." If you were a selective school student, you'd most likely be doing Extension/Advanced English - ESPECIALLY if you went to a good one like Ruse, High, Baulko etc. Anyway, back to the OP, really...

Education/Bach Psychology degree- UAI needed, am I doing good subjects?

Most of your subjects have pretty good scaling, so the only thing you should be worried about is actually doing good in them. =)

    Scaling system

+1 Although students who generally fail 4U maths, would probably still do well in 2U/3U and General.

    Scaling system

I believe in a bit of both. Have a few high scaling subjects, such as MX1, MX2, Physics, Chem, EE1, Economics etc.. as these will differentiate you from getting lets say a low 90UAI to a UAI over 95. However choose some subjects which you know you'll do good in and that will not be too...

Yeah, I knew most people (except maybe 1 or 2) personally, so they were random for you guys, but all linked to me - so yeah..

Hmm, BOSmeet aye? This reminds me of last holidays, we had a 'BOSmeet' ... but it wasn't really random, because we all knew each other in some way... it wasn't that hard to organise.

The situation of stealing HSC marks. Myth or not?

From my experience, everything is important. I was ranked 20th with an internal mark of 70 in 2U last year, and that got moderated to 87 and my external mark was 92 - so I do think the externals are just as important as your rank (if not more). Note that most people who ranked between 10-19...

    2U VS General MATHS

General mathematics is easy, most of the course is covered in the Year 10 5.3 syllabus. It's not hard to get a band 6 if you're good at maths; it just appears like that because the candidature is - well relatively crap at maths. Also, most people who say you can't get a good UAI with general...
