    learning syllabus good idea?

I think you're talking about the third column, like practicals and stuff. You need to know that shit because they can test you on it.

Mx2 half yearlies = supa hard! Epic fail! Woohoo!

I like stuff like mod-arg form; I just mainly vectors and locus.

    2U VS General MATHS

I'm not bagging out general, I'm just saying that if you can handle 2u, then why not do 2u?

Who is the greatest mathematician ever?

Newton is the greatest mathematician. He's also a bastard for coming up with all the shit he did.

Anyone regret their subject selections at the moment?

I regretted choosing SDD (and I still do), but yeah - too late now. School won't even let me drop :(

    Are you Stressing?

Suprisingly, I stressed more last year than I am this year. The only exam I was stressing about was 4u. I think it's all down to time management, if you fully understand the concepts and do constant revision, then there's no real need to stress.

    2U VS General MATHS

Put it this way... You can always drop to General Mathematics, but you can't move up to 2U. Best to keep it for at least the prelim and if you do REALLY REALLY bad, then think about dropping to general.

    learning syllabus good idea?

I don't think you need to know the syllabus off by heart, but do read it and ensure you know what the syllabus requires. This ensures that you are learning everything that's required; nothing more, nothing less.

    Ranking of your school

Well when they moderate your internal mark, they consider how your school went - so I'm pretty sure unless you're the only person in your class, the performance of your cohort does matter. Also with the "misadventure" - that's true; however they don't use your direct assessment task results...

    Pens in the HSC

I don't think it does. I actually like reading blue pen then black pen.

    Pens in the HSC

I prefer gel pens actually. They allow me to write really quickly and they don't smudge for me. Also (besides pacer), they're the best pen to emphasise my neat handwriting (I've been told I write like a girl - when we uploaded our handwriting last year).

Is it worth doing Adv. english if it only ups your uai by 0.4?

According to my teacher, Top in standard is probably equivalent to like coming Top 20s-30s in Advanced.

    Ranking of your school

Well then you better hope they do well, otherwise you're fucked - especially if they beat you. Your school rank does play a role - I'm not saying it fully impacts your results... you can do well anywhere - whether you go to James Ruse or to a school ranked in the 600s. Also the only rank that...

    UAI estimates

True, but with that said, personally I think anything over 95 is really good, so you shouldn't be devastated - there's still heaps of options for people with a UAI ~ 95.

are you a english or maths person?

I'm definately more of a maths person. I do alright in english - but I don't really enjoy it. I dropped Ext English - I couldn't handle 1 extra unit of english.

English - Use of Texts in Syllabus for Belonging Aspect.

Yeah, I agree. I would have liked to use Frankenstein as one of my related texts as well; however I think it's not your text specifically - it's any text on the Prescribed Texts list.
