English - Use of Texts in Syllabus for Belonging Aspect.

We had the exact same discussion about this in my English class. My teacher didn't recommend us doing it. She said that the Board of Studies did actually specify something about how you're not supposed to use Module Texts for the Area of Study (but don't quote me on that). Also, teachers often...

    hsc exam lengths?

Well for maths, I'm accelerated. So I've been exposed to the HSC since Year 10. As for everything else, my school shapes all Year 11/12 Exams to be 3 hours.

    hsc exam lengths?

I reckon it's a reasonable length - so far I've been able to complete all my exams within the three-hour timeframe.

LOL - where's your school and how much?

    13 units :)

That's what I'm planning to do. But yeah - if they still dont let me drop, then I'm fucked.

what TYPE of school do u go to?

Re: Public School vs. Private That depends on the type of private school you go to. I go to a catholic-private school (well we're systemic but yeah) in the South-West of Sydney and we're not snobby or pretentious. We're pretty 'real'. The only difference is we have better resources and...

    PAL College Cabramatta INSIGHT?

Pal College - was initially (and still is) a tuition college for Maths - hence they'd be alright in the maths department. However, the HSC is more about just maths. I'm not too sure how they'd perform in other subjects and also the environment at PAL probably won't be like a typical high school...

    Fire Evacuation during Exam

Misadventure is when the school will treat it as a disadvantage to the whole cohort who sat economics. It means that your whole group will be given special considerations.

    Rich family. It's a possibility.

Rank 4 Unit Topics from easiest to hardest

I haven't done Mechanics or Harder 3U yet, but this is based on my assumptions: Volumes > Mechanics > Harder 3U > Integration > Complex Numbers > Polynomials > Graphs That's what I think.

    Dux College

I disagree, $50 a lesson doesn't seem affordable to me. They make it SOUND cheap by saying it's $25/hr, but each lesson is 2 hours.

    GOOD PHYSICS tutoring college/person

Yeah, pretty much. I was going to join but I have friends going there and they tell me they're already half way through Ideas to Implementations, so like yeah - no point going to a tutor that's way ahead of you. But I hear he's a good teacher.

How much work is every doing?

Business Studies is probably your easiest subject lol. Most of the theory is common sense and yeah - it's all syllabus based. I work about 2 hours every night and before an exam that goes up to about 4.

    Engagement and the HSC

Do you have to get married now? I'm sure he can wait one more year - let him fuck you more often, that might allow him to wait a bit more often. Or if he's rich - don't worry about the HSC, just leech off him for the rest of your life and work on pleasing him. Btw, it's schedule.

    13 units :)

They assessed my current rank. I'm currently 4th on 26/30. So yeah - hopefully if I bomb out my half yearlies - they'll let me drop.

    13 units :)

I have 13 units, but I can't say its freely with my own will. I wanted to drop SDD but my school wouldn't let. I think I'm coping pretty well, except for SDD - I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fail my half-yearlies for that. But yeah. I used to have 14 at one stage.

    7 Months to go..

This is how its scaled. 6.3 If Standard and Advanced English are scaled as a single group, why does the same HSC mark give different scaled marks in Standard English and Advanced English? This issue has been raised since 2001. Since it is likely to be raised again, the explanation will...

    7 Months to go..

THAT IS NOT TRUE. English Advanced has a LOT higher scaling than English Standard. In fact, even English ESL scales higher than standard. http://www.uac.edu.au/pubs/pdf/tsc_report_2007_fin_web-sep.pdf Quoting from the above UAC article, English Standard HSC 32.8 scaled 17.7...

    That 'I give up' moment

Well it depends on the type of student. For the higher-end students, it would be better, because they'd have sufficient knowledge and would rip the tests. For lower-end students, they're no longer able to rely on doing well in a take home assessment, hence their marks would be lower.

    7 Months to go..

Those are the scaled means of a subject. A subject with a scaling approx to 25, is deemed to have an average scaling. Anything below has low scaling - for example standard English is ~17 I think, and higher scaling subjects have higher scaled means (e.g. Physics ~ 30 and MX2 ~ 40s)...
