English 4 unit -- cancels out eng. adv?

Well, 2 unit Maths is assumed knowledge for 4 unit, so you need to have completed it (besides, it would be impossible to do 4 unit without having first done 2 unit). You just don't get examined on it in the HSC exams. I_F

    inverse trig struggle

I would simply plug the values into the calculator, since that bunch of questions doesn't say "don't use a calculator". That's the easiest way to do it. I_F

    An interesting question

Chris is most likely to survive, followed by Albert, and Barry. In the duel, Albert (100%) would much rather shoot at Barry (80%) than Chris (50%), since Barry is much more likely to kill him than Chris. Likewise, Barry would much rather try and hit Albert first, since if he shoots at Chris...

    General or mathematics??

Because: 1. They want a challenge 2. It's assumed knowledge or a prerequisite for a uni course 3. They'd fall asleep in General and it'd be a waste of time 4. All the class twats are in General (well, they are at my school anyway :p) I_F

    ...A trojan...? --- PLEASE HELP!

Don't waste your time with Norton - in software terms, it's fat, useless, and slow. AVG is leaner, faster, and much, much cheaper (i.e. free). You can get it from http://free.grisoft.com/. Anyways, download and install it, update it, and scan your entire system and it's odds on you'll be free...

English 4 unit -- cancels out eng. adv?

You don't automatically get 100% for 2 unit Maths if you do 4 unit. 2 unit disappears totally. I_F

    Registry Problem

Yes, it is a permanent solution (or it should be). Reinstalling basically writes over the operating system (and important registry files) while leaving everything else intact. System Restore is a bit more fiddly in how it works. Either way, you have nothing to lose. Alternatively, you can...

    Quick simple probablity question

Out of 967 tests that recorded positive, 922 were actually correct. So the probability is 922/967, or about 95.4%. I_F

Comp. freezes/locks up and cannot restart

That's not true. The hottest Intel CPU has a total system power usage of 293 watts, not an individual CPU usage of 300 watts. Still, it draws 70 more watts than an equivalent Athlon 64 FX-60 system, so it's quite a lot of heat. I_F

C - sodium hydroxide is the strongest base here and would have the highest pH D would be my guess - all the other answers either raise the pH of the solution, or don't happen. I_F

    Simple Harmonic Motion

    Okey. For any particle moving in Simple Harmonic Motion (you must learn this formula): (x')2 = n2(a2 - x2), where a = amplitude and n = coefficient of t So: (x')2 = 36(4 - x2) x' = 6√(4 - x2) That should be right now. :) I_F

    suffering in chemistry

There's no magic solution. You simply have to do more work, and this is especially so if you only have 10 units. No one can wave a wand and make things happen. You have to put in the effort and make it happen. Best of luck, I_F
