For me personally, it was focusing on the important things as the year went in order to maximise both my internal rank and my external marks. Would've easily gotten 99+ if english didn't fuck me up but ah well. Anyway my advice would probably be to get into a habit of studying consistently...

I am pretty sure that there's a rule that stops you from being able to use any texts on the prescribed texts list of ANY english course as your related text. If you have any esl specific questions you can ask me coz i did esl for my hsc

As others have explained, the process is extremely easy once you understand it. Try and not memorise it and actually understand it, that way you won't have to cram it before the exam. It's been explained above so I won't explain again but just try and UNDERSTAND as much concepts as you can...
