    Orientation Day 12th or 20th?

The faculty welcome is mostly specific to your course - so its mainly chatting and questions and introductions etc. and probably would stay in the one building. The tour on the other hand is just a brief walk around campus. Its also not neccessary to attend it but it'd be somewhat beneficial if...

    My Problem

There really isn't a point in doing INSEARCH if you've already gotten into MQ. As for the BA Comm courses, all the first years are similar and grant 100% credit with the strand with the lowest cut-off being Social Inquiry and the next lowest being Writing & Cultural Studies.

    Enrolment Day

While it is first in, first served, not everyone will want the same times as you i.e there are no 'good times'. You also won't miss out on a place in a core subject as the system of UAI cut-offs are based on how many places the university offers. So you'll probably get most of the times you want...

Cant apply for hecs on onestopadmin.

Exactly - its about whether information has been exchanged from your computer to the server such as when you click links and so on as opposed to typing, moving your mouse etc.

    arts majors

Yup, if you want to see the subjects involved in each major just go to the online handbooks at UTS/UNSW/MQ or USYD's list of live UoS Outlines on the uni websites. They'll also usually specify how many subjects are needed to qualify for a major.

Cant apply for hecs on onestopadmin.

This happens when there is no activity for a short while - they log you out automatically after its been left so as to ensure the security of your account. Just make sure you don't wait too long to click the next thing. Also make sure you don't use the back button or backspace - click on things...

    Orientation Day 12th or 20th?

Haha, writing has about 20% boys and some girls in my class are quoted as saying 'woah I haven't seen this many boys in class since uni started'. And I've only ever seen three guys who do social inquiry. So its definitely very girl dominated.:p

Uni Entry System about to Collapse (SMH) - (re: UNSW)

It also says, on both the UAC description and the UNSW online course outline, to call UNSW for further information. I think something that is a real shame though is how interstate, TPC and IB students wouldn't be recieving the same advantages as presumably UNSW is preferencing those specific...

Uni Entry System about to Collapse (SMH) - (re: UNSW)

UNSW made the information available that there were additional criteria in place for several of its courses, if the applicant chooses to ignore the possibility that this may apply to their application then part of the onus is on them. UNSW obviously was not hiding this criterion either otherwise...

    Places to eat in Sydney

Inferno Caffe (Pizza/Pasta restaurant) Located in the food court of Broadway Shopping centre, inbetween the pasta place and the burger place. They have a small pizza + drink special for $9.90 and they also have large (ie big enough for two people) pizzas for around $19. They have the best...

    Orientation Day 12th or 20th?

I'd reccomend attending them - its where you'll get to interact with people doing your course before it actually starts since everyone in that welcome room will either be already studying it or about to start doing so.

    Angel and BtVS

I <3 Buffy - its probably the quintessential cult series of all teenagers who experienced the 90s. Buffy's coolness level increased so much for me when I discovered she was based on a Jewish ninja from the x-men, I mean how much cooler can you get than that? Joss Whedon is also developing a...

Don't feel silly, it is confusing [SMH]

I don't believe students would have many problems if they were preferenced due to studying certain subjects, many students behave as if this criteria already exists and their interests usually reinforce this (look at the subject choices of people who end up in drama, music, creative writing...

    arts majors

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking - do you wish to know if university sites provide more details about a major than its name? If so, most universities do on their site, usually as a link on the title name or with links associated with the subjects that comprise this major.

    Orientation Day 12th or 20th?

Enrollment is all on one day - some people just have different days. The academic seminars and such run throughout the week though. We have O-day, which contains the kind of things you'd expect from other universities' O-week.

    My Problem

If you want to do another strand of communications at UTS, place those courses (social inquiry, writing & cultural studies) as your top preferences and then hope you get an offer in the late or final rounds. Once you're in to that course you simply study for a year, keep up a reasonable grade...

    UTS reopening personal statment submission

The best thing for you to do at this juncture is contact the UTS DAB faculty and discuss what this means for you as they would be the most qualified persons to field this question. You will also be more likely to get a response from them in time.

    BoS UTS Rollcall! Wooot!

I think that'd be good idea, though some of the double degree people should probably have a listing in each valid category if it was done like that. It'd be great if you could code it but if you don't feel like doing it I'll probably have it done by next friday - though it'd be orsum if you...

    Orientation Day 12th or 20th?

Its not a big deal if you turn up to another day as they don't have a roll they make upon entry - its just to ensure they have enough seats. Last year the university was over flowing with people so they had to set up a second hall and get a projector to show us what the speaker was saying in the...
