I sure, sure, sure hope not. Think about it, read my sig, then figure out why ;)

Actual Error in Question 23 Algorith

I actually didn't notice that, in fact I don't think I ever read the line. Still, I can imagine getting confused by that for quite a few minutes.

    Booklets + DFD

Used four. And yes, I did connect to other processes.

Well, I think the wording of 7 is still equivalent. Entering a character into an array, entering a character into a variable, I think it's talking about the *user* entering it. Still, it's a much better answer than D.

Did anyone else think that exam was hard?

I didn't put the NOT gate at the end, I put it between switch B and the XOR gate. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of algorithms :)

Not sure about 7, I think it's C as it searches while the array is being filled, rather than searching the filled array. 14 - You're definitely wrong on that one. It is C. Now to change my sig to say 'I PWNED SCM ON QUESTION 14!'...

Did anyone else think that exam was hard?

I liked it! I thought it was much easier than 2002.

    Question 22 (e) Was Faulty

Actually, turns out it wasn't faulty having read last two posts and thought about it for another minute... yes, it's to ensure the lane is not in use.

    Question 22 (e) Was Faulty

I didn't notice the error, but now that you point it out it's obvious. Still, it's only a minor thing and I don't think markers will penalise you for not noticing.

Question for all small govt/minarchist ppl

Well, a private firm would only become a government once it has enough capital and resources. They could use some interesting structures, undercover agreements and so on to arrange that, so their true strength is hidden. Of course I don't know whether this happens in practice. Three...

Question for all small govt/minarchist ppl

Interesting, didn't know that. However, I wonder if any of those societies would be anarcho-capitalist if modern technology were available today. I think a big reason for the emergence of several of these anarcho-capitalist systems was simply that noone else knew what they were doing, they...

    What time did you leave?

I think it's different depending on how many digits there are in your student number. Since I got my student number when I was 9, it's shorter than most current students' IDs. Yeah, the space isn't there for no reason. I've always done it that way - if there's a field, it must be filled.

    What time did you leave?

BOS rules don't say they MUST let you out after you're done, they only specify when they CAN'T release you. Otherwise the school is free to set rules.

do we get binary data sheet?

I have no idea what a binary data sheet is, but no, you don't get one.

    The Upcoming Examination

Yeah, I meant recognise. I just have trouble with selection and insertion as they're confusing. And no, I don't have the Excel book ;) I do have an SDD textbook but it's too late.

    What time did you leave?

It's your BOS student number, if you wrote your UAC number... they'd be... confused. (Your UAC number is prepended with like 72 or something.) Besides, everyone should write their number on each page as it could be very handy if they lost a sheet for whatever reason.

    The Upcoming Examination

I hate the algorithms we have to memorise. I do SDVH but I'd have preferred to do EPL as I'm more a computer science-y person and I'd like to learn about logic and functional languages.

    The Upcoming Examination

Just to continue pointing out errors in textbooks, a mere Bill doesn't do anything - the Copyright Amendment (Computer Programs) Bill 1999 didn't do anything, it was the Copyright Amendment (Computer Programs) Act 1999. One of the better laws the Howard government passed :) Anyway, this...

    The Upcoming Examination

But you start off with MC and there's twenty of them most of which are really simple, so generally it's over in 10 minutes. Then there's the rest of the exam, and it's good to have an idea of what sort of things you have to try to remember and begin thinking about response structure. I can...
