my class is throwing a maths-themed party at school in 2 weeks, and we're currently stuck on ideas, esp. for activities/music.
for food, we've thought of eating "Pi" and having a cake math decorated, and perhaps number cookies.
but yeah, ANY useful suggestions would be really helpful.
thanks!
generally, no.
however if you do well (say, high 90's), the scaling rarely affects you, and even if it does, only very minutely.
usually, the lower your mark, the more it will be affected.
i'm going usyd over unsw atm.
purely coz i can combine with music. and usyd is pretty (yes yes im being superficial i know :) )
i dont think the unsw program is half bad tho!
no! THEORY ftw!
the theory you learn in m'ship is one grade lower than theory. so like the stuff you learn in 6thg mship is only 5th g theory.
im doing 6th theory atm, does that mean im at 7th mship? :D
im doing piano:
aus: frangipani (ross edwards)
1900-1945: toccata (khatchaturian)
1900-1945: jardins sous la pluie (debussy)
aus piece would probs be 8th gradish. toccata maybe amus, and jardins is on the ameb lmus list.
im also doing music 2 perf.
standards for music 2 would probli be a bit higher than music 1, lets say grade7+? although many are def above, and small number would be lower.

not jap.
both french and spanish are widely spoken and are useful, and they complement each other if you happen to learn both. (like i once tried, but now am just sticking to german and french)
id say french would be a little easier to get your head around.
essays are generally 300words long for language extensions.
true, language extension is meant to take quite a bit of time. but the scaling at the end is worth it :D
nahh jk, the scaling is an extra bonus. you should really only be taking it if you love the language and want to become better at...
how's it looking for the rest of the year? busy?
i have at least 1 (half the time 2, sometimes 3!) assessments per week until the end of term 2, except for t2wk3
i just hope my hsc timetable wont look half as bad...
