im going to use earplugs for my trial exam bcuz im doing individual supervision in a classroom, and last year for prelims i was in that room and it was noisy as fuck. i think its too late to apply for provisions for that in hsc though : ( ,though hopefully it can be added as an appeal ?

    Can I still get a 96 ATAR?

rank matters more than anything, usually you can find that on ur school report.

also update - i spoke to my school and my trial exam extra time has being increased back to 5 minutes per 30 minutes. they initially put it down to 2.5 bcuz thats what they applied for with nesa (idk why), but i told them im really struggling so theyre increasing it to 5 for trials.

    free periods

you get free periods once you hit y12. you could technically drop a subject now and get a free when the subject normally runs, but then you wouldnt be eligible for an atar (you need 12 units in yr 11). just wait for yr12 to come around, then enjoy the frees.

    free periods

idk if this differs by school but in yr 12 you get free periods. in yr11 you do full days where the 6 subjects take up your time table. in yr12 most people drop down to 5 subjects, and then the time slot of that sixth period becomes free. for example; my free periods are when art usually runs...

    I need urgent advice.

i really doubt they would let you switch late into the school year. the stuff in year 11 does relate to some of the year 12 syllabus - specifically some of module 2 (plate boundaries, plate boundaries and tectonic structures) and 3 (role of enery in earths processes, geological...

    3. id recommend against va if you struggle w time management. plus 50% of the mark is major work and the other 50% theory, so not great if u dont like art theory and you arent great at writing english essays 2. bio is a lot of work, less than chem but still quite a lot of content. imo earth is...

y11 - 12 geo doesnt really cover 'countries', as in information about specific countries, flags etc. the yr11 covers it a bit more, as in it covers globalisation and some optional stuff w global conflict y12 only really covers countries in the sense of megacities, and the challenges they face

Do you want to support Australia-made?

not sure if youre trying to advertise to students or not, but if a student ordered their own custom school merch to flex they would probably get beat up

    2026 HSC CHAT

it initially started because i was kind of forced to because i had two weeks until my year 11 prelims so i started studying at 5 and finished at 9. thats not really a good way to get into that routine though. so what i would recommend for now is choosing a time to start, keep that starting time...

    I need urgent advice.

not necessarily. the higher you score, the less scaling effects you. plus you already have very high scaling subjects. also in general the amount of effort taken to get a 90 in ees is less than that needed to get that score in chem,

do keep in mind that uac doesnt publish every single raw mark and its corresponding scaled mark, it instead has the percentiles for what students got and the raw and scaled mark. https://www.uac.edu.au/assets/documents/scaling-reports/scaling-report-2023-nsw-hsc.pdf check page 47

never studied in yr 10 but i keep studying now due to routine. its not motivation per say, but more of im in a habit so i just keep going. i have a set time i start studying each day and finish. i also study every day, though youre in yr 10 so you should be fine doing something like maybe you do...
