What do you want to do as a Doctor?

Psychiatrist. Always been a career I've been thinking about since I was in year 7. I think you do Medicine then post grad- psychiatry. Hopefully that won't take 15+ years.

Should I repeat the HSC or do a Diploma?

Do not ever, ever, ever repeat the HSC. Even if you have figured out all your mistakes and the tricks of the board of studies, that does not mean that your marks will magically improve next year. Go to TAFE, sit a STAT if you can, do one of those diploma of languages. Try your hardest in the...

    English is stupid

HSC english isn't even actual English. Awful set texts, corny modules, etc. It's about rote learning, not understanding or developing of ideas. f**king waste of time...

    2012 Open Day thoughts?

The open day for Macquarie was fairly good and organised. It had a relaxing atmosphere to it, and I loved the Philosphy talk , that was the definite highlight for me :) I do wish however that there were more MQ students. I don't mean the students wearing red t-shirts or the societies, but if you...

Am I able to do this at University Of New South Wales?

That handbook although confusing at first, made more sense than the mq and syd uni one. by the looks of things, dual degrees require just the general education, not any free electives. I think I'll just enrol in a B.A or a B.Sc and then just go into a dual degree in the second year...

Am I able to do this at University Of New South Wales?

Hopefully I get into B.Sci/ B.A, if I do not, B.A/B.F.A. I do not want to do a media degree at all. So If I get into a B.A/ B.Sci, am I able to take as many free electives as I want from Media, Fine Art degrees?

    pills

I take Prozac. Doesn't help at all with study. In terms of study, it's about concentration and discipline. Two things I can never do.

Go to James Ruse and still can't find motivation

but it's kinda insensitive. Really, if you are in year twelve and you don't know how to keep something to yourself like a mark, well, that's just sad. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be disappointed, but I do not like it when I have studied weeks and weeks for an exam only to get a 55%...

    Trial Results and Papers

Oh boy is this painful... Food Technology 35% English Advanced 47% General Maths 40% (they are going to be scaled up, my maths teacher told me) Legal Studies- misadventure SOR II- 55% I hope it's not too late to improve and get raw marks in external of around the 80s.... and cross...

Go to James Ruse and still can't find motivation

Well you can keep those ''I'm so annoyed at my awful 99% mark'' to yourself, because next to you, someone might have gotten a much lower mark and put in just as enough effort, and hence, felt worse. No one will sympathise with you.

Drop to Standard because of the workload?

Never drop to Standard. Just because you may be in the bottom 10 in Advanced doesn't automatically mean that you are going to be in the top 10 in Standard. This is what bugs me: teachers, board of studies, etc lie about scaling, aligning, etc. Fact: Standard KILLS your ATAR. Unless you are...

What are the advantages of doing a double degree?

A double degree gives your university degree a larger scope and edge. People have already mentioned points such as increased employability, etc but by doing a double degree, you can incorporate alot of your interests a bit more than just electives. It avoids the feeling that you are being...
