The University of Sydney Open Day - 25 August

    2. But the stall was pretty lame. 3. Who cares. 4. Of course it isn't for me. At the open day, so many North Shore people were there... about the gag...

    Open day

I really liked it too. The film and screen production guy was nice, answered all my questions honestly. The bag they got me is pretty good. I like there courtyard, people were friendly, and I went out of there in a good mood. It's the place you get the feeling that if you went, you'd have a good...

The University of Sydney Open Day - 25 August

I went to the university open day for Notre Dame, UTS and Sydney University and out of those three, Sydney University was definately the worst. The food was incredibly pricey, there wasn't enough student ambassadors, things that sound awesome turned out to be completely lame such as that paint...

Is cramming an effective study technique?

If my cramming you mean re-reading over again, no. I agree, listening in class and consistent work over the school period will get you way furthur than cramming. Inflicting stress on yourself is just dumb.

What to do after trials for the hsc?

Some start to study early. I agree with the person above, take it easy. I'm rereading all my english texts.

Do you regret any subjects that you did?

Urgh I do... I should have done Advanced English/ 2 unit Religion/ Visual Arts/ Geography/ Legal Studies rather than stupid Advanced english/ Legal/ General Maths/ Modern History (dropped)/ Food Tec/ 2 unit Religion. Too late, oh the regret...

    Leaving School

I can't wait, I'm so excited to leave. Pretty much everyone who I dislike is planning on going to Usyd or UNSW (I'm not insulting the universities in any way, they just don't offer what I want to do) or they are taking gap year. Anywhoo, I hope to make new friends next year. Join a couple of...

What are you going to miss about high school?

Nothing. I hate school, I hate the uniform, I hate the people who go to my school, I hate the teachers. I hate everything about it. I can't wait to see this ''real world.''

    University Open Days

I will have a busy day on the 25th August: Notre Dame, UTS and Sydney University. Got a lot of questions to ask about courses and to get a general feel of the university. There really is no reason for me to want to go to Syd. Uni, but to check out their Arts and Computing Design. Perhaps I ruled...

How do you feel about the HSC RIGHT NOW?

Hate it with a passion. I find it really annoying that whenever someone talks to me, it's about the HSC. Whenever I say I'm stressed, they assume its about the HSC. I hate the social factors to the HSC the most, and even though I know that my now brilliant PhD cousin had to go to TAFE first, I...

Do I have a chance of getting into Notre Dame?

I go to a Loreto school.... Academic: I'm getting results of 50%- 80% My ranks aren't very good. School/ Community involvement: I've done the Red Shield Appeal and helped out at a music festival. Distruptions (I don't think they ask this): Diagnosed depression, learning difficulties, will be...

    Scaling for standard English?

Try as hard as you can to get back to Advanced. My brother did standard initally at St. Ignatius, and fought really hard, and got moved up to Advanced. Get notes from your parents, etc. It's your education, you can persist. Getting a band 6 in Standard is so, so, so hard. Advanced is generally...

    Dark Knight Rises!

I loved it, 10/10, top 30ish of all time (personal favourites, not the greatest). Completely minor problems I had are: the sound (Bane's voice was a bit too muffled) and the one too many deus ex machina (always a signature Nolan flaw, but I didn't mind it). It had the signature psychology of the...

    Who memorises essays for english?

I don't, but I'm thinking of doing it now. A band 6 english essay probably requires 1000 words, sophistication, references, techniques, etc. For such a vague topic such as belonging, I probably can do that. But I wouldn't rely on it, however. I do memorise my creative writing however, I find...

Year 12's: what is your fave legal studies topic?

Oh I love legal studies, my best and favourite subject by far.... World Order. You may or may not do it depending on your school, but if you have a very critical eye and are interested in politics, history you will get alot out of it. I also enjoyed Family as well. Even though it was heart...

    HSC Subject Ideas

This is a great question.... even though I do not do any sciences, Extension science is a good example, as I know alot of people would benefit from it. This may take a bit of explaining to do to avoid confusion but... literature. NOT English. The history of literature. Literature and its impacts...

    Politically correct society

What gives you the impression I don't like people saying what they think? Freedom of speech isn't perfect. It does not equate to a peaceful society, or a fair one. Is it better than a dictatorship? Yes, it is. You are on a forum called ''News, Current Affairs & Politics." People are going to...

    Politically correct society

What makes you think I dislike other people's opinions? You are making sweeping statements about my opinions, and simplfying them. I do believe in freedom of speech, but it's not perfect, and it's fact that people today use it to act like total d*cks, and just because a country has freedom of...

    Politically correct society

I wasn't really talking about more jokes people may use, but the defences people have. I don't think this argument has anything to do with freedom of speech, its more about the defences people will use when they are accused. Freedom of speech isn't necessarily a 100% good thing, it has its...
