    Hey Bruce

Yeah, I'm lurking around. All of the senior residents and common room committee members are here. Most other older residents are closeted away in the Packard wing. <3

    Bruce O-Week

Here's a copy of the final O-week guide. A tropfest trip, LAN party and a few other things have been added @ Evilo: I had to listen to him at NAAUC too.

Need Help Choosing a Laptop for Uni

DON'T BUY ANYTHING In 2008 there will be a laptop leasing scheme with Dell through the university. You'll be able to lease a laptop at a very low price and at the end of the year have an option to purchase.

    Need help from law/economics students : )

As long as you're somewhat discerning, you'll read 50 per week not per course :). And jas0nt, law subjects are scaled and the bell curve statistics are reproduced in the Law Handbook published by the faculty. From the 2007 Law Handbook...

    Need help from law/economics students : )

    1) Law is taught in lectures and tutorials. Some courses such as legal theory and foundations have seminars instead of tutorials. Generally the seminars and tutorials have around 20 people in them. 2) A credit won't be hard for you to get but bringing yourself up to a distinction is actually...

What UAI do you reckon combined law will be at ANU in 2008?

The UAI cutoff was 96.5 the year before last. It went back down to 95. Personally I think the cutoff will go up now that Melbourne's law course is postgraduate but I doubt that it will get any higher than 96.5.

    days a week at uni

All animals are equal but some are more equal than others Rorix? However, RE: your impressions Season ANU = Public Law/International Law People think international law sounds great until they actually do it. Knowing the rules of treaty incorporation will be the only worthwhile thing you'll...

To cater or not to cater

The food is excellent (at least at Bruce and Ursies - food at Johns and Burgmann is appalling) and community tends to be much better at catered colleges. At Bruce & Ursies you will generally get all you can eat with around 3 or 4 different options at dinner as well as access to a salad bar...

Is it hard surviving in canberra?

Anecdotally yes but statistically no. Graphs showing the employment of graduates are released yearly. While I can’t find any current ones, in law employment in the private sector is generally lower amongst ANU grads because around 25% of us end up in the public service as opposed to around 5% at...

    BArts (Int'l Relations)

Anything that an arts graduate would be able to do (perhaps that was a little harsh). Anyway, if you're interested in the public service you'd be better off taking arts and then combining it with economics or something. The IR degree is just a specialisation which forces you to take certain...

    ANU course enquiries

Medicine is a post-graduate course at ANU. It's also rather difficult to vouch for the quality of the degree since it's a fairly new program and there haven't been any graduates yet. However, the medical science degree is quite good. I suggest you apply for the PhB science degree if you're a...

    On-Campus Accommodation Help

Firstly, don’t apply to King’s College. Our former, god-awful head was from King’s – he was quite into boy’s clubs and unbalanced and illogical discipline. From the “young King’s gentlemen” I met at NAAUC (the annual college conference) they’re all very into sport, chauvinism and hazing. I can't...

    USYD vs UNSW

Actually most people I know from Ruse with 99.95 went to Usyd because they offered a mini scholarship (RE: bribe) to anyone who got over 99.90. That aside, the Ruse people who went to UNSW are like a disturbing mini cult. When I went there last year to visit some friends there were around 30 of...
