    The Tennis Thread

Re: The Official Tennis Thread Wow really? Why can't girls play 5-setters? They're definitely tough enough, otherwise Kvitova and Robson would have been dead after their 20 game 3rd set. Mathematically it makes sense though

Did anyone ever go to Talent 100?

I think the Talent 100 centres are in Epping and Chatswood, so it may be a little far for you if distance is an issue. Plenty of trains to both stations though.

    The Tennis Thread

Re: The Official Tennis Thread She beat Kvitova in 3 sets, but the game lasted for 3.5 hours! I think the third set was 11-9 hahaha Williams seemed a little down today :/ (I was going for Maria anyway) But hopefully I can watch the Federer-Tomic one tomorrow!! Also, dumb question, but can...

    UWS Medicine Degree DILEMMA!

I thought that the Med courses were similar between unis cos they're all accredited by some organisation? It's sad how how high-end people in medicine are still prejudiced (judging by what I've read here).Of all people, you could at least expect doctors in those high end positions (or in any...

Advice on the treatment of these dotpoints

Re: Would the net ionic equation for this reaction be identical to the 'normal' react But acetic acid is weak, so isn't it that we can't split it up into its separate ionic species since only a small percentage of molecules are actually split up like this? That's what my teacher said, but he...

    Regrets of Picking Certain Subjects

I was planning to do Jap for Y11/12 since it was my strongest subject. Days before the final day of Y10, I switched from Jap to Eco and I have no regrets! :) I'm not exactly doing wonderfully in eco, but it's really interesting and much better than having quizzes every two days. And I'm also...

Lacking motivation. What do you do?

Haha you're welcome :) Yeah judging by your computing subjects' ranks, I think they'll take care of themselves throughout the year since you seem to be quite able in those subjects. But if you're less confident with chem + maths, might as well get those out of the way cos they're pretty heavy...

Nice prelim ranks, might want to keep them up and obtain similar ranks by the time you're doing your HSC :)

Advice on the treatment of these dotpoints

Re: Are C-H bonds significantly polar? What about C-O? I've said that "alkanols contain 2 types of polar bonds, C-O and O-H, and these give it high MP/BP (the polarity of the C-H bond is insignificant by comparison)" blah blah blah in my notes (for the alkanol/ic acid dot point) and wanted to...

Are C-H bonds significantly polar? What about C-O? ^ and also, are C-O bonds many times more polar than C-H? Sorry for the influx of questions lol, but I'm really confused

Advice on the treatment of these dotpoints

How do you put this into words? So how would you say C=O in words? I want l that the carbon-oxygen bond, but doesn't that refer to C-O, and not C=O? Or can carbon-oxygen refer to both C-O and C=O?
