band 6 standard english, is it possible?

I wouldn't say it's 'hard' to get a band 6. The course is easier than advanced. If you get a band 6 student from advanced they could probably get a band 6 in standard with a bit less effort. Point is as I said most of the cohort doesn't really care about doing well in it and I speak from experience.

    Civil Rights in USA Help

That was ages ago. Society now is much much better. If one person is racist 10 people speak against it. It takes time to change people’s mindset. Some people at the time the laws were introduced might not have accepted the new rules due to the fact that there were so used to the old ones. No...

    Advice for ATAR >95

Personally I only really went over my essays instead of practicing writing them in a timed format for the HSC and I got a band 5. So I think if you want to break that band 6 barrier you need to really practice actually writing them to a variety of scenarios.

Why is MAQ given so much shit

Yep no joke at all. A lot of the time it was exaggerating things to the point that they're untrue. For example someone I know did community service for a day or something but wrote it out to say it was for much longer and also added in extra roles that they never did. Now they can't exactly...

    ATAR <95 is... No

Tbh this was my parents view as well but I had learnt when I was very young not to give a dam about others opinions on you. So I never cared what my parents or relatives thought of my atar. Strive for your best! Striving completely for something other want from you can lead to disappointment...

    Penrith VS Girraween

Girraween I would say is significantly better than Penrith. A 20 rank difference in the top schools is usually quite a lot. I would recommend go with Girra if both schools are equally convenient for you. For example if it takes you 2 hours to get to Girra but Penrith is closer then I would go...

How accurate is the university rankings? which one is the most objective one?

I picked my uni choices solely based on rankings. Having seen the work from my friends studying the same course as I do at other unis I've seen teaching quality varies a lot for the same course between unis as well and the general trend I've found is better ranked = more demanding workload and...

Good ATAR in a bad school? Is it possible?

Since your HSC is next year I wouldn't stress about it too much right now but definitely try and get all your subjects to being ranked first. That being said schools outside top 150 also tend to fluctuate a lot in terms of what atars are achieved. For example in my school the highest atar for 2...

    Rank??

You're really on the edge. It's not guaranteed although likely you could get a band 6. However band 6's usually do vary by some amount depending on the school so I wouldn't say you will definitely but it's likely.
