    Physics Half Yearly Questions

Re: The "I didn't go well in my half yearlies" Thread First, Excel hardly is a good textbook. It doesn't go into enough depth, this is a clear example of it being too summarised, and it is the reason why I don't use it. Secondly, it's logic... if you have a radial magnetic field, then the...

    Physics Half Yearly Questions

Re: The "I didn't go well in my half yearlies" Thread Yeah except, the syllabus states: "identify data sources, gather and process information to qualitatively describe the application of the motor effect in the galvanometer" Actually, I don't know whether my Physics teacher has taught me...

    Physics Half Yearly Questions

Re: I screwed up my half yearlies Yeah but if you read the rest of her answer, you'll soon find out she just got the motor effect mixed up with Faraday's Law. That is pretty minor and should only cost 1 mark. Excuse me? The moving coil galvanometer depends on the motor effect which states...

the only drawback with j. coroneos book

Yep that's the book I have then. No the Calculus section isn't volumes... that's in the supplyment book.

the only drawback with j. coroneos book

I think then that is an older version of his 4U book, dunno if it's the one that has imperial measurements in the mechanics chapter LOL... What topics does it cover? (Look in contents)

the only drawback with j. coroneos book

You may've gotten an older version of his book. In which case it would just contain more material from the old 4U course, because the 'revised' 4U book is just material that is relevant to the 1980 syllabus which was in the old syllabus. But if it's A5, then it would be the correct book...

the only drawback with j. coroneos book

The supplyment is A4, and the actual main book is A5. They're grey coloured.

the only drawback with j. coroneos book

I was going through the books aswell, and it's missing stuff for polynomials such as reducing equations and given a polynomial equation with certain roots, making a polynomial equation with variations of those roots. Also, I found that its missing stuff like the chord of contact, focii and...

    Mathematical Induction

Hi Trebla, Thanks for your info. Do you know which year it's from? Also, what do you think of the Cambridge Study in terms of its usefulness?

    Physics Half Yearly Questions

Re: I screwed up my half yearlies The first bit is correct too! There is a change in flux, so there is an induced EMF! That IS Faraday's Law. The motor effect is where a current carrying conductor in a magnetic field experiences a force. There is only one MINOR error in that answer and that...

    Mathematical Induction

Yeah, it's from last year's half yearly examination paper (my school's) but I have seen it in other trials, so I'm sure the teacher got it from somewhere. Apparantly like nobody got it correct, lol.

Hi, Could someone please do this for me? Also, does anyone know where this question is from? Thanks

    Reduction question

    Hi, Sorry but I have more questions... 1. If Im, n=∫sinmx cosnx dx, prove that Im, n=∫sinm-1x (d/dx)[(-cosn+1x)/(n+1)] dx = [-sinm-1x cosn+1x]/(n+1) + (m-1)/(n+1)[Im-2,n - Im,n] Hence show that Im, n = [-sinm-1x cosn+1x]/(n+1) + (m-1)/(n+1)*Im-2,n 2. If Un=∫0pi/2 θsinnθdθ, n>1 prove that...

    Reduction question

Yeah I got there, and got two log expressions, but I don't know how to make them into the other form (secx+tanx) Sorry if this is really obvious, I'm pretty slow at this stuff :(

    Reduction question

How would I use t results in this case? I tried and miserably failed :(

    Reduction question

Hi, thanks for your help... Just wondering though, how am I supposed to know this? lol... is there a 'list' of integrals like these that I should know and be able to manipulate? Thanks

    Reduction question

Hi again, I have another question, lol.. It's a part of the one I previously posted. Hence find ∫sec3x dx <-- I can do it until I have to find ∫secx dx, how would I do that? Thanks for your help so far ppl!

    Reduction question

Hey Jetblack, thanks for your help! Just one question though, how do I know when to apply integration by parts or to use the other 'miscellaneous' method? Thanks
