    Permtations/Combinations Etc

    Oh gosh! My bad, I was thinking they had to be 4-digit, but they dont. 4-digit: 3P3 = 6 3-digit: 3P2 = 6 2-digit: 3P1 = 3 1-digit: It can only be 5 so = 1 6 + 6 + 3 + 1 = 16. There it is. :)

    Permtations/Combinations Etc

UE NMBR Since UE is together, there are 5 objects therefore the number of arrangements is 5!. But since it could be UE or EU, it's 5! x 2 = 240. The total number of arrangements is 6! = 720. So the probability of two vowels being together is 240/720 = 1/3. This means 5 occupies the last...

Tutor available for HSC subjects + Chemistry Olympiad

You could have posted a year ago. A Chemistry tutor would have been helpful for me. German too.

sorry for all the Q's but just a couple more

Yes, I'm one of the unfortunate few. Forensics is nothing but Biology and Physics, neither of which I study. :( Haha, did I? I don't remember. Some stuff in Shipwrecks is kind of general Chem. :p

Creative ways to destroy the stimulus book

He didn't say that. If I'm not mistaken, you came into this thread with this message: Which, if I may say so, isn't the most polite way to voice one's contradictive opinion. OT, you have just begun your journey (my apologies for using this term :p) and you'll soon realise what...

Creative ways to destroy the stimulus book

Someone should point out that it's paper. If you really hate the texts, your enemies are Robert Frost, Renay Walker, Margaret Atwood, Victor Kelleher, Kenneth Grahame and Shirley Geok-lin Lim. If you really hate the course, your enemy is Board of Studies. If you really hate the lessons, your...

    hair...

I have brown, almost-waist-length hair which is naturally really straight. I like curling it, but because it's so long, it weighs down and the curls never stay. Besides, it's very healthy and I don't want to fry it up. :p For the formal, I'm going to a hairdresser to pin it up in one...

distinguishing between alkanes and alkenes prac

This is more than you need to know for this particular prac. I'll assume you know what cyclohexane and cyclohexene looks like and are able to apply my explanation to them because it's not very easy to draw them here. Hence I'm going to explain this using hexane and hexene. Pure bromine is...

    Mr. and Mrs. X

But in this question, it was clearly stated that he is not to join the committee without her, so that rules out him being in it alone as a possibility.

positioning of a double bond in alkene

Then write any C7 alkene, but name it. That's a bit hard to say. :p How about 1-heptene, 2-heptene and 3-heptene? :p

    differentiation of logs

It depends on what you're trying to solve. There is no reason to use log4 (or any other base that's not 10 or e) if it doesn't help in solving an equation algebraically as only log10 and loge are on the calculator - loge is ln. He used loge because you can differentiate it.
