    What do we write in??

    Since he mentioned not anything about a calculator, I guess fatmuscle must have had an implant, you cheat! :D you don't really need protractors and strings. what you should get is a template with the curve y=x^2, coz you probably will have to draw a parabola for 2 unit.

    question :s :S

    i) hmm it's takes ! 2 mins to reach O, so it should take B 2 mins to reach ) too.. so V = 0.5 km/min ii) imagine a cartesian plane with origin at O. now, A's position is (-2,0), B is at (0,-1) initially their position at time t will be A( (t-2), 0) and B( 0,(Vt - 1) ) so the...

    complex roots occuring in conjugate pairs

    complicated.. just take conjugates of both sides like stag_j did

    Resisted motion / Mechanics

    soryr, differential equation :p for example if they give you something like the resistance is proportional to the velocity of a particle which is also subjected to gravity, then you write the D.E. y'' = -g - ky' (or a= -g-kv) where k is a positive constant. then work from there.

    Circle Geometry theorem qtn.. *imporant*

    check page 177, 178 of the *ahem* coroneos supplement :p EDIT: to save you time digging that book out: page 177 SECTION 15 - ANGLES IN CIRCLES THEOREMS 2.) ANGLES IN THE SAME SEGMENT OF A CIRCLE ARE EQUAL

    Circle Geometry theorem qtn.. *imporant*

    you can state equal arcs subtend equal angles at the circumference of equal circles. phone the HSC advice line if you want to make sure

    Scaling for maths

    go to UAC's website, scaling/UAI get table 3 or the full report, there will be a table that converts raw marks to scaled

    Circle Geometry theorem qtn.. *imporant*

    equal arcs do... the chord thing is a bit tricky, because in general, the angle that is subtended on the major arc is different to the one subtended on the minor arc

    Resisted motion / Mechanics

    Try not to think resisted motion as something different from erh 'normal' motion. it always, write your D.E. then integrate or solve.

    Shipwrecks DP

    actually it's because when there's excess H+ the cathod reaction effectively becomes O2 + 4H+ + 4e- -> 2 H2O E= +1.23 Volts as compared to O2 + 2H2O + 4e- -> 4OH- E = +0.40 volts
