    Science Extension Tutoring?

I don't think this is one of those subjects you can get 'tutored' on. I mean it's all up to you the research and all right? so I don't know how tutoring for it would work. Then again I don't 100% know what you do in it.

    UTS vs USYD?

Well.. can't argue with that lol

    Bridging courses

Wait what? I don't get what you mean. What's mathematical modelling? and shouldn't foundation math be the first one you do?

Am I dumb or is this true? HSC getting harder and harder each year.

3u definitely easier without a doubt. 2018 3u was pretty good but the 2019 3u and 2017 3u were really easy which seems to be occurring more commonly nowadays.

    Maths stuff

They seem pretty similar and I would say both are on par with 2u maths in terms of what they teach. Foundation mathematics seems to be an actual uni course as opposed to the other one which means it probably goes much more in depth. The bridging course also has already ended btw... Anyway I...

Am I dumb or is this true? HSC getting harder and harder each year.

Depends on what subject. I’ll comment on the subjects I did 4u & 3u Maths: Definitely the papers have gotten much easier than the earlier years. The last decent 3u paper was 2013 imo. Physics: This was never hard and it still isn’t hard, but I would say definitely harder than the old syllabus...

    Bridging courses

I haven't done one but if it actually brings you up to scratch then it would be worth it. Uni moves pretty fast so if you don't have a solid foundation from high school it can be tough. Now this more so applies to Maths as the high school Science courses are a joke. If I were you I would do the...

How can 50% of people get an ATAR over 70?

This. Everyone is taken into account and by everyone it means anyone who entered into year 7 the year you did. So yeah naturally a LOT of people decide they want to do trades or whatever and thus do not complete the HSC which obviously affects the Atar.

    UTS to USYD.

Just to give an example of why this happens. If we compared the Intro to Programming course for Comp sci at UNSW vs UTS there is a stark difference. What UTS teaches in a whole term is taught within the first 4/5 weeks in UNSW so now you see why there's an issue with transferring credit as...

    BCom @ UNSW or Usyd?

If you wanted to go with it yeah sure. Usyd and Unsw are on par with each other so it's just whichever uni you feel is better for you like for e.g. Semesters vs Trimesters

    help with problem solving

There are books that teach this kind of problem solving. You want to look for books that are 'AMC' preparation books, AMC being the Australian Maths Competition. Questions are of the style your looking for so buying one of those books should give you what you're looking for.

    UTS to USYD.

There is but iirc going from a Non GO8 to a GO8 means less courses will be able to be transferred as opposed to if you were doing it the other way around. So you probably will have to redo some courses..

    Internships at the big banks

That would actually be funny but iirc the CEO of Huawei uses an IPhone and an IPad soo... it doesn’t really matter.

    year 11; organisation

Yeah of course it’s okay. Other than giving up the extra scaling there’s no relevance between ext 1 maths and HSC Physics. HSC Physics is a HSIE course really so no it won’t matter.. Also if you want to pursue a career in STEM then I would recommend keeping ext 1 Maths

    Lecture recordings?

Uni do tend to record most of their courses. I don't think I've ever heard of a course that wasn't recorded. I suggest you ask in the UTS disc group or something on facebook if it exists.

    year 11; organisation

Being in year 10 this is really your last holidays to enjoy and do what you want to do. So you shouldn't really have to study ahead especially for something like HSC Physics. Unless your a bit weak on your year 10 Physics content then maybe revise some of the key concepts and ideas but other...

    UNSW or USYD

For Comm/Engi UNSW is regarded as being 'better' however both unis are amazing and the difference is negligible. Both have excellent connections and are very well accredited. So just go with whichever one you think is better for you because in terms of academics there is no noticeable difference.

How do you know when to use u-substitution for integration and what u is? (example included)

What I used to do in 4u is always start by thinking of a u sub and then trig sub, partial fractions and then by parts etc. I would do this in order and usually what happens is hard integrals require a sophisticated u sub or trig sub so if at first it isn't obvious what method to go with try...

    #welcome #general-chat

    Wellll I mean yeah everyone is always behind one way or another in uni but it's not like a make or break situation like the HSC. Even in the HSC you should take breaks to relax and play video games if you want but this time must be restricted as you can't spend all day like you can in year 10 ;-;
