Oops.

Nice work, I think that's the closest someone has come to a proof which might settle this argument.

I also have some reputable sources at hand. It seems that if you "...supply liquor to a minor ... [the maximum penalty is] ... $5,500."1 Shall we crack open the grange? 1.Department of Gaming and Racing "Young People and the NSW Liquor Laws." Sydney, DGR. pp2-3, 2003.

What area are you interested in to study?

Thanks for the heads up, I'd never heard of this before (I never really looked at ANU). From what I can see it looks pretty cool, not as cool as this though: http://www.admissions.ox.ac.uk/courses/maph.shtml :p

What area are you interested in to study?

I clicked science (since I'm interested in things like maths, medical sciences, neurophysiology, molecular biology, physics etc) but would also like to study philosophy.

That is now my new favourite proof.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've faced the same problem trying to find a way to study philosophy in a science degree (the opposite problem really :p). Have a look at what you can fit in and consider what you're willing to cut. You can manage a major in mathematics with only 48cp (as long as 24...

    USYD maths programs

So what is it exactly that you want to do? You want to do maths for fun right and from what I can gather you're interested in arts subjects otherwise. Why not consider the BA program where you can study more than enough maths subjects?

You could take psychology and history/philosophy of science or something? If you really dislike science maybe you should consider an a degree which doesn't have BSc in the award name.

    USYD maths programs

He probably means the requirements for the BSc. In the handbook it says: In the junior year you should complete: - 12cp from mathematics and statistics - 24cp from at least two subjects other than math/stats - 12cp electives from science/arts/economics/engineering... etc. They state it...

You can actually major in maths in the USyd BA. It's an alternate list subject and I think up to 60cp of the 144 can be put into maths.

If you are in year 11, read this first.

I go to an average selective school and about a third of the students in year 12 do 4-unit maths. I suspect that this might be quite variable. At my school something like 5% of students that take 4-unit mathematics end up dropping the course. It is far more intensive. It really requires...

I remember one where you take the limit of (1 + 1/n)n as n --> ∞. I think the proof of it requires a bit of integration (one method at least).

At USyd you complete an adv Science degree first (advanced med. science if you want) and as long as you keep a high average (Distinction I believe) then you are exempt from having to sit the GAMSAT. At UNSW it's just the straight 6 years undergrad unless you tack on arts/med or the BMedSci. Like...

It's going to be tough choosing whether to put UNSW or USyd first. Realistically I'm unlikely to make is into USyd med but if it's not at the top of the list then I'm pretty sure I don't get considered. I'll have to get some advice on this. 1. UNSW Med 2. Usyd Combined Med 3. Advanced...

UMAT scores required for international students

A lot of people, I would even suggest most, seem to have a mild form of OCD. A lot of people seem to have little rituals and idiosyncratic habits which are tied in with anxiety.

    Sigur Ros tour (merged)

Yeah, I just had a listen to that track. Glosoli went off live. They had an amazing wall of sound happening in the build up at the end of that song. I just grabbed the tracks of takk off of soulseek and now I know where all the songs I didn't recognise come from :). I'll have to order a copy of...
