I'm pretty sure you wouldn't use it then, "lieber" means "rather." For example: Ich mag Biologie lieber als Mathematik. Though that is the verb "lieber moegen." But you would normally use it as "rather." Hmm..

I prefer our higher standard of living and higher life expectancies to be honest. Even though we have a high suicide rate, somehow I doubt they're incredibly happy over in the Middle East. If life's so wonderful there, they wouldn't be coming in droves here. And us portraying women like that...

Actually, in Western countries, love does tend to be a major factor in marriage. Yeah, yeah, I know there are cases in which it's just for money or whatever, but love before marriage is a part of our culture.

UTS is much better for journalism. The Usyd course is a joke to many in the industry apparently. They're relying purely on prestige.

I think Preliminary Extension English is a preresrequite (bah, I can't spell, I'm tired) for the HSC course... Maybe it would be a better idea to talk to your careers advisor and teachers?
