    Conflicting times

I did INFO1010 last year, and I will say it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. You are tested on Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. I found the Word part easy but the other two not as much. But each person's different. And no the second computer lab is not compulsory, I did not go to...

    which is worse???

Personally I'd go with option two as the worst. I find that 5 hours straight is bearable, especially at those hours. And how long would your class on Wednesday be? If it's only one hour, there's no way I'd choose that. But if it's any longer, option two wouldn't be so bad. However I prefer as...

    Registration System...

Agreed with the above except for the "they always open on exact times" part. I had one to register for on Friday and it opened 15 minutes late, and it was one that a lot of education students were entering. >< That was a massive "mind-rape".

    Registration System...

Thank you. :) I'm probably going to need it haha.

    Registration System...

Yeah it's like that. I was constantly having to refresh the page, to have it finally load and see that it hadn't even opened yet. It was supposed to open at 12pm, didn't open until 12:30. I should have expected that from last year. :P That was for SCIM2030. I got the times I wanted, but I...

    Taking notes

That would depend on the course I think. In most cases the lecture notes are quite useful, but a lot of the time the lecturer will go into detail or explain further the topics covered (or even not covered) on the slides. It's better to go to the lectures than to risk it. Though I admit, I didn't...

    Taking notes

In most cases the lectures will be online (on Blackboard) before the lecture. But to be honest, it really depends on the lecturer. I had one last semester who refused to put them up before hand to encourage students to turn up to lectures (which didn't help by the way). But generally yes they...

University Timetables: Basic Rules for Freshmen

Depending on the course, it's very unlikely you'd be able to register for your classes yet. You can design your 'ideal' timetable, but registration doesn't open for a couple of weeks. See here for times:Registration dates / Enrolment / Study Options / The University of Newcastle, Australia Oh...

whats my student ID? needed for accommodation.

Kaatie, I just checked on the hub, and the number in the corner is the one I meant with the 'c'. The 'c'' isn't a part of the number, it's just for a lot of things, mostly online, you have to put it in front for some reason. So yes, they are the same number.

whats my student ID? needed for accommodation.

I think it's your student user ID. It was a year ago when I got mine so my memory's a bit fuzzy. But I think you get the number when you complete your enrolment online. It's the number you have to put a 'c' (unless they change the letters around between years) in front of for virtually...

Bachelor of Teaching (Second) / Bachelor of Health & Physical Education

I'm going into my second year of primary teaching this year at Ourimbah. I transferred into the B Teaching (Primary) / B Arts programme this year from the old programme. Don't often see many people studying teaching on here. I've heard that quote before, and find it amusing more than anything...

    B Eng/ B Sc/ B Tech-(CDFSP)

I don't really know anything for certain, but I did read two posts by people in the General University Discussion area where the smh had printed a different course to the ones they were offered also, so it's quite possible it's an error. But like I said, I don't really know. :)

    Is UNCLE newcastle uni?

I've had emails from the university referring to it as UoN, but everyone here refers to it as UNCLE, so I never know which to use.

    UAC offers

I think it will depend on the university and possibly course. When I got my offer from the University of Newcastle last year it was all done online.

    UAC and offers

I'm pretty sure it would be fine; once you've got the offer, you've got the offer. It would raise your chances of being offered one of the preferences you move above it, obviously, I think.

Ourimbah - is anyone going there? For 2010?

Yes this will be my second year there. It's an alright place, not as fancy as those Sydney universities but I like it. And no, I haven't seen any gaols around. But if you're catching the train, I warn you, trains often ignore Ourimbah's existence. /Sigh

    Can I get in?

When you're applying through UAC, you can enter up to 9 preferences as your courses. So you would have your first preference, being the course at UWS, and then up to 8 back ups if you don't make it, and you can change them with no charge. If you're willing to go to a uni out of Sydney, the...

    Scrubs are there any Fans

Well he's going to be on for 6 episodes as a guest, as will Elliot and a few others. It's going to be set at med school, where Turk and Dr Cox will be lecturers. I'm looking forward to it. And it may or may not be Glen Matthews. That's what he told JD, but then straight after another guy walked...
