    Mathematics Extension 2 Predictions

You know I've found that half the inequalities I've ever seen are all Am-Gm and then you like get multiple equations and add/times them together 😅 If you don't know what you're doing fr just Am-Gm it

BoS trials Maths and Chemistry 2022

Consider x^2+sqrt(x)+sqrt(x)≥3x. Repeat for y and z, sum the three up and see if you can finish from here :)

Yeah they do, it depends on how everyone in that elective does in core and then they try match it up.

    locus of z, where z=u-i/u-2

If the equation is in terms of z, it's hard to apply the conditions, so re-arrange in terms of u. This gives us u=(2z-i)/(z-1). Then if u is purely real, you know that Im[(2z-i)/(z-1)]=0, which you can find the locus of by letting z=x+iy. Similarly, if u moves around the unit circle, you know...

After today's english exam where they basically asked the same question two years in a row, nothing is off the table anymore 😭

Yeah summarise you just gotta force yourself to not go over the lines which was nice considering my handwriting is small. Unfortunately for you I'd bet by bottom dollar that on Wednesday we're gonna get a "refer to language and content" question 😀. I just hope the reading and responding part B...

    Eng Adv Paper 2 Predictions

Yes and preferably a lot, like beat them over the head with extract quotes (try aim for 3+ depending on how long it is)

Oh yeah I was talking about the 5 marker writing, yeah no for the listening for sure right everything down 😅, and write it down in french as well if you can, especially if it's a language question. That way you can just take your time to analyse stuff after the audio is playing and to not drop a...

What I learnt to get 5 is just to keep it very simple and like try embody the voice of whoever the question is about. Like in the trials we got something about writing an email to a teacher about being late and so you just gotta sound like a distressed student and like offer an explanation and...

    Complex Number: Locus

The way you do this is you find the distance from the centre to the origin then you add the radius to get the max modulus and subtract the radius to get the min modulus

Nah, I find writing pretty chill cos we have so much time but for listening, if they start talking about "pigcasso" or something like our trials I'm going to walk out 💀

What are your tips for reading task time management Paper 1 Advanced English?

Interesting cos I normally have it the other way, I try to shave off 5 minutes for my essay. To be fair, the common mod essay is probably the easiest one to get 20 on (your texts and questions are the same as standard) so I've found that as long as my essay is long (1100+ words) and I address...

What are your tips for reading task time management Paper 1 Advanced English?

Certain markers search for certain points to be made regarding the text (our school got a senior marker to mark our reading section and she would write things like "perhaps you missed the ultimate irony that...") so I'd say read THE WHOLE TEXT. However, the way to save time is to not write too...

    complex 2

Remember z+1/z=2cos2pi/5 and 2cos4pi/5. So by solving the quadratic in (b), you solved a polynomial with roots 2cospi/5 and 2cos4pi/5. Then to get the product you just do sum of roots.

    complex 2

Because it says hence, you have to use part B. Try dividing both sides by w^4 and then using the fact that w^n+w^(-n)=2cos(npi/9) then use sums to products until you get a product of three cos terms, keeping in mind that cos(5pi/9)=-cos(4pi/9).

Maths Ext 2 (and Ext 1) 2022 trial papers

I was wondering if anyone had any Math Ext 2 or Maths Ext 1 trial papers from 2022. I heard THSC won't be adding any new content this year so I have no idea where to get any recent trial papers so I think if this post can act as a bit of a collation for these papers it would really nice practice...

Draft that got me full marks in the Trial

I basically rewrote this draft for the CSSA 2022 trial common module and it received 20/20. The marker's comments were: Sophisticated response. Perhaps there may be scope to broaden dramatic form reference but otherwise this is difficult to fault. Well done! NOTE: the conclusion I did not...

    Full Marks Narrative + Justification

I typed up my response to the CSSA trial which received 20 for Mod C, correcting grammatical mistakes. Note that in the exam, I squeezed out 5-10 minutes extra for Mod C so that is why I could write nearly 1200 words and I do believe the volume that I wrote did in some ways contribute to the...
