thanks for the reply tommykins.. the only thing im worried about is whether i'll be disadvantaged in later years in comparison to those who took up phys1131. Im studying optometry btw.

After being enrolled in phys1121 for about 2 weeks now.. i just recently found out that i had the choice between phys1121 and phys1131, where phys1131 is supposedly more challenging and thus beneficial to ur education. Is a 90 in HSC physics, 46/50 for Maths Ext1 enough to take up phys1131?

acutally if u look closer at my posts.. one of them says i received ZERO points for all the popular courses at UNSW in terms of EAS.. so EAS was useless anyways..

I received a late round offer to combined law at UNSW with an atar of 98.35... the published cutoff is 99.7... i dont have any bonus points or EAS... How is this possible? one of my friends had 99.2 and didnt get an offer to UNSW law. I also had USYD law as first pref.. and the cutoff...

The letter i received about peer mentoring from optometry @ UNSW says they assign a 4th year student to me? So i'm not too sure whether i acutally have mentoring sessions in which i can choose to 'attend.'

Isn't the highest ATAR for someone doing standard english this year 99.45 or sumthing? Pick advanced over standard anyday imo, too hard to get a band 6 in std english... there goes ur all rounder award already.

I was wondering how the broadway scheme differed in comparison to other unis such as UNSW. I have heard that it was based on academic merit, instead of being given specific bonus pts like in UNSW's case, in which they determine the amount of points to give each applicant based on their EAS...

We're talking about the UNSW letter for EAS eligibility... i'm curious as to whether broadway specifies courses in which it gives bonus pts to as well. I've heard the broadway scheme is based on academic merit as mckensara has noted, but am not sure whether this applies to ALL COURSES.

From research it seems that both these unis have equally reputable law schools, and hence the decision to choose one falls upon other factors... Distance is not a deciding factor as both uni's would take a similar amount of time to get to. I took a liking to UNSW during its open day.. but...

what are my chances with a 98.35 + EAS? for USYD or UNSW
