    Biology exam thoughts

It was a good test as my teacher predicted most of the test lol. She said sound shadow, renal dialysis, pulse oximeter etc. were all going to be in it and were! Also I was lucky as all the stuff I wasn't comfortable with was not in it! Now ready for mathematics on Wednesday!

    General Thoughts: HSC PD/H/PE

The dot point asked for performance and fitness needs for the athlete, schedule of events/competitions and climate and season

I bet all of you guys went great! Good luck for your other exams as I know you will smash them like you smashed this one!

Don't worry I found out that it does!

    Help for improving performance

For instance, you could say aerobic training like continuous/uniform, long interval and fartlek help improve aerobic performance e.g. marathon runners through increasing efficiency of the cardiovascular endurance system. Thus, adaptations occur like increased haemoglobin levels thus increase...

Great response StudyToDeath! However, remember that the state government regulate hospitals!

    HSC Biology Marathon 2015

Yeah! I only learnt about Public health programs! However, you might need to know about the others briefly in a multiple choice question?

B and B. Ryan is right caffeine and glycogen sparing have no benefit to the ATP/PC system through its source of fuel as creatine phosphate!

    HSC PDHPE Marathon

Good response! However, you did waste a fair bit of lines that were not necessary and you could've used those for the other two principles! However, a great response 7/7

How did you guys go in your trials?

CQ4 would be quite tricky in regards to validity and reliability. The 8 marker in one of the previous exams had validity and reliability and was pretty tricky compared to an Ottawa Charter 8 marker, which is pretty much just following the action areas with links to other part of question etc.

    HSC PDHPE Marathon

Unfortunately I don't think it will be the case. My teacher told me to go over it as best as possible so that I can at least get 8 marks in the exam lol (as usually an 8 marker)

    HSC PDHPE Marathon

What about a subjective and objective question? In last 5 years it has been in once like validity and reliability!

    HSC PDHPE Marathon

I agree. If I had to put money on a question to put on it would be the Ottawa Charter with the social juice principles for 8 marks and I have a feeling a nutritional considerations question will be asked from core 2 (gut feeling)!

    HSC PDHPE Marathon

Yeah true! Good luck for engineering tomorrow! I don't have anything until PDHPE so I am going full on from tonight! But I have some biology to do though now!

    HSC PDHPE Marathon

I am not sure if it would be an 8 marker. Maybe if they are doing 3,5 and a 12 mark question it might be a 3 or 5 but for an 8 marker it would be hell lol
