IT Degree or Computer Science ??

Computer science is very maths-oriented. You will have the opportunity to learn things like cryptography, linear algebra, artificial intelligence, etc. IT is more about networking, database management, fixing computer issues, etc. If you aren't a strong maths student you probably shouldn't do...

Shit happens. You will probably underperform in at least one of your HSC exams. Just don't be too hard on yourself.

is it still possible to get an atar above 91?

What do they do in those 4-5 hours? Facebook? If you studied intensely for 4 hours every day, you could theoretically pump out 5 english essays done every day (with breaks in between!), or 2 maths tests, or an HSC paper + a whole lot of study. How do you manage to study 4 hours a day and get 70?

is it still possible to get an atar above 91?

A friend of mine got 3 state ranks and 99.95 (I don't think he was featured on TV though lol), and he definitely did not study that much. Maybe 1.5-3 hours a night, 4-6 hours on weekends? With 5 hours every day, you should be aiming for at least 6 or 7 state ranks :P and 1st in at least 3 of those.

Help, Network Security in Computer Engineering?

Well yes, computer science is a branch of mathematics. If you want to mess around with modems and servers, don't do a bachelor of science.

is it still possible to get an atar above 91?

realistically that's not gonna happen. you won't go from being at the bottom to being at the top.

I need a Backup in Case I Fail

    - What film features a scene in which death plays chess? - Who is the only actor to have had significant roles in 5 films, all of which were nominated for the best picture academy award? - What is referred to in the film name "Synecdoche: New York"? - In The Truman Show, what is the symbolism...

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon Consider 3-letter string starting with A, B, C, D. There are 4*26^2=2704. There are 26 for each EA, EB, EC, ED, EF, so 2704+26*5=2834. Then there's EGA,EGB,...,EGG, 7 of these. So 2841 in total. (edit: assuming no counting mistake)

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon If a function is odd, then f(x)=-f(-x). Differentiating both sides, we get f'(x) = f'(-x) therefore the derivative is even. If a function is even, then f(x)=f(-x). Differentiating both sides, we get f'(x) = -f'(-x) therefore the derivative is odd. Yes. f(x)=k, k!=0 is...

    Kill off a topic.

Integration, because to me it just seems like a bunch of silly little manipulation techniques. They rarely require abstract or higher level thinking (bar the question 8s which use integration to prove interesting results).
