In seach for Software Design & Development Excel book w/ Study Cards

2004 is pretty damn old. Can't you just grab Samuel Davis's textbook and do the exercises in that?

I don't think there's an SDD excel book for the new SDD syllabus yet.

    N Coloured Blobs

    I agree with that answer.

    N Coloured Blobs

N coloured blobs wander around in groups on an open plain. Each group has its own distinct colour, and all coloured blobs in a group share the same colour. Occasionally, two groups will bump into each other: each of the blobs in the smaller group will take on the colour of the larger group, and...

    Prime Numbers

One place where they're used extensively is cryptography. It is very easy to compute the multiplication of two large primes; it is very difficult to factor the multiplication of two large primes. Most secure systems use prime-based encryption algorithms like RSA.

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon Only once you've made the observation that all rotations are different to each other. With your method, if the beads were RGRG (in which case, you can rotate it by two beads and get RGRG again), you'd get 3!/(2!2!) = 6/4 (uh oh...)

    HSC 2013 MX2 Marathon (archive)

Re: HSC 2013 4U Marathon The answer is 105/7 = 15. You don't have to use cases -- you can prove that for any of these bead strings, none of its rotations will be identical to itself, so there's no risk of double counting: 7!/(4!*2!*1!) will count every rotation precisely 7 times. For the...

    Weights in general, problem..

If you're a beginner, you might be better off sticking to compound exercises (bench press, squat, deadlift, pull up, etc.) than isolation exercises. It's important to train your whole body, not just arms and chest. Also, make sure you have a strong core and near-perfect form before you start...

Software Design and Development Syllabus Changes

No massive changes between the two versions. You'll have to learn some extra stuff (boolean algebra, knowledge of a real life social/legal/ethical issue, etc.). Check the syllabus on the board of studies website -- they highlight the changes.

    SDD Marathon 2013

W00T John tries to program a standard integer sorting algorithm (to sort in ascending order), and produces the following (see below). a) What algorithm did John try to program? b) John messed up the algorithm. Correct the pseudocode to make the algorithm correct. INPUT Array // 0-indexed...

99+ ATAR- How can you get it?

I was rank 4th and got 49/50. Ranks 5 and 6 also got 49/50 I believe. I got 67-68/70 on the HSC exam. Btw, I was only ranked first in 2 of my subjects and I got an ATAR well above 99. I don't go to a particularly well ranked school, we were in the 40s last year. Don't worry too much about...

99+ ATAR- How can you get it?

This is a really bad attitude dude :( the HSC means pretty much nothing in the grand scheme of things. Try to enjoy the year. Also, I would reconsider your aims. It is relatively easy to get 48+/50 in maths ext1, but I can pretty much guarantee you won't get 99 in chemistry.

Low Assesment Mark & Rank BUT High HSC marks

They'll get a high exam mark, lower assessment mark and an HSC mark that's roughly the average of those two values.
