I agree, Senior Science is pointless even if it is "easy" there is no point doing it if you wish to achieve a decent UAI. Focus on your other subjects, who knows an extra 30 minutes on another subject each night could make the world of difference.

Re: What UAI are you aiming for? 47% of people are aiming for 95-100? That sounds a bit odd considering the average UAI isnt anywhere close to that. For me I would love to get 90+ but it is going to take alot of work and effort on my part and high marks in some low scaling subjects (PDHPE and Bio)

I will most likely be doing 11 however if I decide on 4 unit English then I will have 10 (because I will drop bio). It's risky but if I perform consistantly throughout the year there shouldn't be a problem.

I have definately turned into a "sloth", hey I havent been on Bored Of Studies for weeks. I cant wait for the term to be over tomorrow, I can recharge and start everything afresh next term.

Hey guys, just curious what exactly are alligned marks and what are they based on ect. Recently myself and some of my friends were messing around with SAM and we put in our raw marks from our half-yearly reports. It turned out that I was getting a lower UAI estimate than people who do TAFE...

People have different values based on their upbringing and this is linked to race. Asian people tend to have tutors because they value education (in other words getting a UAI of 99+) above other things that different parts of the population value.

I'd advise dropping one of your 2 unit subjects, one that you either dislike, arent doing well in or dont need in your future career (if you have decided what you want to do yet). As people above have said 3u english in year 11 is needed for 3unit in year 12.

I am definately thinking of either dropping extension maths and keeping all my other subjects or dropping extension maths and biology and picking up 4 unit english.

The kid who everyone hates but the teachers love have a habit of getting captain and thats what I hate about it. I am thinking of going to go for prefect but I am house captain at the moment which suits me just fine. On top of that I will be up against someone who sucks up so bad to the teachers.

The things that you did sound very similar to me!! I was putting things like -3+7 into the calculator then all of a sudden I was out of time in the exam. I was loosing pages of working out in maths and scrunching up the pages I wanted to keep. I'm practicing my exam technique (practice paper)...

it sounds like your angry at YOUR school rather than school in general. Change schools is the best peice of advice I can give, I know its a hard thing to do in Year11/12 but if you dont enjoy it then whats the point? Its going to be your personal decision but you sound like a pretty good student.

Many students always complain they are working "soo hard" and not beating the people who always come first but their definition of working "sooo hard" may be very different from someone who is topping their subjects. Just doing home study may seem difficult for some but for others 2 hours study...
