i no oxidation is loss of electron and reduction is gain.. how do u classify which half equation is oxidation or reduction?
e.g.1 (Mg2+) +( 2e-) ---------->> Mg this is reduction
e.g.2 (Mg) -------->> Mg(2+) + (2e-) this is oxidation..
in the first example, Mg2+ gained 2...
i personally like macquarie better because of the layout and spaces between topics.. excel is jus like an essay where everything is crammed..excel however seems to be lot thicker, and "common?".
which one do u think is better?
i find that macquarie focuses more on calculations which was wot previous syllabus focused more on.. but now syllabus have changed where calculation r less emphasised.

i think that u cant change schools anymore after year 10.. but if ur school is really that crap, i think u shuld change.. newspaper said selective schools get extra marks because students in selective skool r more competitive and it would not be fair for 2 students to hav same mark if they're...
so far, i brought macquarie and excel for both prelim and hsc. i find that there r lots of errors in their sample answers and explanation..

it really gets ur confused and frustrated that u wasted so much time to figure its wrong.. this occurs...
a locus maths question:
A is a point where the circle with equation x^2 + y^2 = 16 cuts the x axis. Find the locus of the midpoints of all chords of dis circle dat contain point A. (i think there r 2 point As )
The answer: x^2+y^2-4x = 0

i used to go to blakehurst from yr 7-10, its not selective, pretty crap, thats why i transfered to fort st.. well its pretty crap compared to selectives skools, pretty good compared to random public ones although its ranking is about 200
