How do i get a job in business industry?

Was it directed at me? Trolling a little? You can't actually believe the stuff that's coming out of your mouth? Surely you are a little smarter than that? Why don't you tell us your whole story in detail. What do you do, where do you work, what school did you go to and how you went in the HSC...

studying for a second degree (not masters)

Yep. A second degree in the same course would seem like a waste of time & money to me. If you wanted to do a second degree, I'd look at something that will supplement or complement your degree. Otherwise postgrad all the way.

    Casual or Part time Job?

Depends on your workload and how well you are going in uni. I'd maybe wait until the next semester if you can, so you can see what your results are like and how many hours you can work while maintaining a good average. Part time is good, though don't work night shift. I used to work at a...

How do i get a job in business industry?

LOL! OMG! Firstly, are you proud that you have a full time job? Wow. You are my hero. I'm pretty surprised that you have a full time job, no other person who did their HSC last year has a full time job. Your skills must be a sight to behold. Can I have an autograph? Secondly, if you want...

Crazy ATAR differences from MAIN round to EARLY FEBRUARY round offers.

That's why the government has decided to spend $490 million dollars on improving teaching quality/ratio's and to allow demand driven university selection by 2012. Good move I think. What I'm saying is that ATAR/UAI/OP etc is not the be all and end all of selection and is not always the...

    1,2,3 or four?

I'd probably do the first one. It guarantees you entry into architecture, adds a qualification to your achievements and at the end of the day might be useful to get you a job in a field that is hard to get in to. Canberra might be okay to. Although, you will be up against the competition to...

Crazy ATAR differences from MAIN round to EARLY FEBRUARY round offers.

Exactly. That's what makes the system so flawed. There are very few courses that require a great ATAR as a prerequisite. Medicine & Science. Definitely. Without question. A lot only require a good ATAR, with an emphasis on the subjects studied. Such as Engineering. Does an Engineer need great...

Crazy ATAR differences from MAIN round to EARLY FEBRUARY round offers.

It's a flawed system using ATAR for university applications. Often, high ATAR scores won't be a reflection of how a student performs. University learning is a completely different kettle of fish to school learning. Intelligence matters, but hard work and dedication matters a lot more. I've had...

Health Science or Environmental science: need help deciding

Why not pick Science, see how you enjoy it after a year and then transfer over to health science if you don't enjoy it. Or vice versa. No harm done, you will have a broader knowledge than the average graduate and you will only lose a year anyway. It's better to lose a year and get it right than...

    ACU or SCU, coffs harbour?

ACU. There was a similar thread earlier, so I will just cut and paste from that. http://community.boredofstudies.org/586/general-university-discussion/235747/uws-hotel-school/2.html I'v posted the link to the thread, and I hope you get my gist from the quotes. Another thing, Coffs...

How do i get a job in business industry?

Double degree is very important - Science, Law or Engineering as well as commerce come to mind. Then maybe look at postgrad work in a suitable field. At least that way you will have a competitive edge over most of the competition. Put your head down at school and work hard. Maybe talk to some...

    Knives

So do I. Was under the pump at work and needed to score 10kg of squid and slice a 15kg bag of onions in an hour for a function for 300 front of house forgot to tell us about. Down to a third of a bag of onions with about 10 minutes to go and bumped it. Swore a lot after that.

    Knives

I bumped the edge of my work bench with my Shun. I've seen other chef's chip the edge the same way, or on bone or even a pumpkin.

Wusthof make excellent knives, worthy of any kitchen. One I don't like is Icel. Poor quality steel which don't hold their edge at all.
