    Internal Assessment mark Query

Usually schools will submit their marks as full numbers, but it's not always the case. Either way, it should have a very little effect. The internal marks are moderated to ensure the marks are fair throughout the state. The ranking and relative difference between each student is primarily what...

    BOS approved program

There isn't any "official" UAI prediction program that the Board of Studies offers. The closest thing I could think of that could be what they bought was the PEDC UAI program which really isn't that good...

Is a band 5 still possible?

It's quite hard to say for sure, but the chance is still definitely there. If you look at the statistics for previous years English Advanced, you'd notice a good percentage of the state obtain between band 4 and 5, with 37.84% of the state achieving band 5 (which is a pretty good amount)...

    raw --> moderated marks

If you get a raw mark of 80/100 on a particular subject (in your case Physics), a process done by the Board of Studies aligns that mark so as to classify you into a band group that denotes achievements learnt from the course. It makes your mark comparable between different HSC years. This...

    thats unpossible.. but what if?

The School assessment and HSC exam is equally weighted. So generally you shouldn't expect that doing well in one will balance the other. Though, if you do well in the HSC exam, I'm sure your assessment won't be that that that that bad enough that you will get a really bad UAI. So in short, try...

    Advanced English scaling

The English Advanced and Standard biggest misconception is exactly what most students make. English Standard AND Advanced are scaled in the exact same way 2 identical RAW marks in Standard English and Advanced English will scale to the same scaled mark. Standard and Advanced English are...

    Misadventure/ illness Appeal

Misadventure/Illness refers to things that affected you during the exam that you took. The EAS is what you should apply for if you feel you have been affected throughout the HSC year. When applying for Misadventure/Illness you must remember that it's not always a good thing. If your...

    How accurate is SAM?

What not to do is enter in your trial marks or your overall assessment mark so far. That is a big no no. SAM is extremely accurate for it's purpose; that is to estimate what UAI you would of received if you attained the HSC marks you inputted for that particular year. Every year the scaling...

    study food and exercise

During exam period. Drink lots of water! (Except before an exam). Generally I don't tend to worry about what I eat as long as I'm happy to eat it and that it won't give me a stomach ache or indigestion. Can't imagine doing an exam and having a stomach ache. For exercise, I wouldn't suggest...

Is there hope of getting a UAI of 85+

It's really hard to say. Especially when we don't know your subjects, school, ranking etc... But in any case, it definitely would not be impossible. You still have a chance, just continue to study hard and do well.

    The Side effects of SAM

SAM is used as an indicator for what type of UAI you might of received if you sat the HSC in a particular year and attained those particular parks. I understand that a lot of misinterpretations can be the result of it because people fail to read the 'full story' and make sudden conclusions...

Help! Can I come back in the HSC/trials?

There is still time. Definitely. No doubt. The trials are usually worth quite a fair bit, and if you can improve on it it definitely shows you are on the right path. The HSC exam is usually quite similar to proper trial papers (Such as CSSA or NEAP etc.). So if you can improve on the trials, you...

Is it the MARK or RANK that matters ?

Although ranks are more important than marks, the marks itself are an indicator of your level of performance. Of course a high mark means you are performing well, and a low mark means you might have to study more. So try not to think that if you are ranked well you are guaranteed to do well...

    HELPP!!! technical difficulties!!!

SAM uses scaling information that is available from the statistics based on the results of 2005. Because class of 2006 has not completed the HSC exams, it's impossible to use results that do not exist. So, in answer to your question, you can't.
