    subject selection advice

I'd advise you to do Modern History. In NSGHS, History is more fun than science. (personal opinion). Most girls here don't choose subjects with high scaling - subjects are chosen based on interests. Btw, I think the school has left a few spaces in each subject for new students, so dont worry...

i screwed up my first HSC asessment.. am i screwed T^T

That's true. On the report of some Year 12's from NSGHS, there are some small assessments weighted 15%, but screwing one of these up can stuff up your final rank (but not essentially your uai) like big poop. Girl A beat Girl B in every single assessment by a few marks, but in the 15% assessment...

what TYPE of school do u go to?

Re: Public School vs. Private Based on rankings, selective public beats private, but that is only because selective schools are taking in the brightest students in the state. Some private schools perform outstandingly well, in spite of the fact that some students aren't at the top of the...

James Ruse are cheaters and the BOS do not care.

Ruse does the same stuff we do, except at a faster pace. Some of the in-depth stuff we cover are sometimes from the HSC course too (well, the preliminary anyway) so I don't think James Ruse is the only school doing this. Sometimes the extra material is not tested in our exams anyway, therefore...

A bit of info on your school.

Dux got 100 UAI. School ranked second last year. Although that seems all wow and stuff, our achivements are still far from beating James Ruse.

Did you use pencil or pen?

Nope. I did that too, and so did many other people. You are allowed to draw diagrams in pencil.

Strike on the first two days of school (2009)

I have heard various rumours that there is going to be a strike on the first two days of school (2009). These rumours seem to be confirmed here: http://www.solidarity.net.au/web/nsw-teachers-plan-48-hour-strike-in-january-09/ :D Has anyone else heard anything about this? I am worried because I...
