Guide to PICKING UP first years.

CBS - Campus Bible Studies You know? That annoying group of individuals who think they can convert you in less than 5 minutes.

Guide to PICKING UP first years.

I know its unrelated but do me a favour and make sure those rags are used on all the CBS people (Hillsong as well if they get too annoying). I'm sure you'll manage to knock out a few hot Christian girls so its win-win situation for you guys anyway. Unless you're wearing a yellow shirt at...

Changing lecture and tutorial times in the future?

Who the fuck would do that? Wouldn't it take ages reading out 500 or so Asian names (Chan, Chan, Chan, Lee, Lee, Lee, Wong, Wong, Wong)?

are afternoon and night classes usually a lot smaller?

Not like you'll be making that many friends in a lecture after awhile anyway.

    commerce camp

Whenever the newly renamed comsoc (I think they call themselves business soc or something now this year??) decides to plan it. Its usually very early on in Semester 1. It's also quite popular as well so if you're dying to go, you'd better reserve a spot quickly. Go to the faculty welcome and...

    general UNSW chit-chat

The Oweek website is a mess. O-week forums are practically non-existent as well considering why BOS is picking up the slack already when it comes to first-year questions. Not a good sign so far.

Difference between Uni and High School?

Considering you (Hawkeye) posted an answer to begin with.

    general UNSW chit-chat

Apparently, the organising team for oweek have been pretty slack this year. I'm under the impression this year's event wont live up to previous years.

Difference between Uni and High School?

But many people still think they're one when they first go to university. For whatever freedom and rights you've been deprived of in high school, you'll get it in university. As for bars, the only people I ever see at the roundhouse bar during the day are tradies and arts students.

Guide to PICKING UP first years.

Everyone is dying to get a piece of first-year action. In all seriousness though, you need to learn to crawl before you can walk. In other words, for half the socially inept and desperate viewers of this forum (2500 views... come on guys...), just trying to keep a conversation with...

    What are Free Options?

Free options are basically any courses within the same faculty as your degree and also courses that aren't specifically required for your majors. Think of them as geneds but within your faculty.

    general UNSW chit-chat

It is and it will get easier once university starts. As for the speed dating, it'll turn into a mess because of time contraints and overpopularity amongst the first years. And then you have people just coming and going into the line, screwing up the order to the point where you're paired up...

    general UNSW chit-chat

I know you guys are all keen with the speed dating but chances are, the only things you'll be doing there are sweating and waiting around to actually get in. Nothing like a bit of despiration and naivete to attract our new students. :)

Guide to PICKING UP first years.

Dont even go there... The place will be so packed at that dark-as-fuck, little roundhouse that the only people you'll be meeting will be the other guys who severely unbalance the sex ratio at that event. If you're keen though, go early...

    Renting around UNSW

Have you looked at the New College Village? I'm not sure whether they've opened yet but it would be perfect for a post-grad like you.

What games are you playing now during the holidays?

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. Last one and I'll be finished with Ace Attorney until Perfect Prosecutor comes out to our shores (or my R4...)

    Urgent Question

Darkwolfzx already answered the question but I'll just mention this. University degrees are structured plans with courses that build upon each other. In other words, the word 'prerequisites' is going to be running through your mind as you move through your core units into whatever courses...

what to do with b eco major

Eco history is probably the most wishy-washy eco major at unsw. I was planning on doing it but decided against it on financial eco instead. Read the online handbook to better inform yourself of the courses the major requires.
