ofc, I agree = use reading time to find techniques and also if you find enough substance to answer the particular question for that text, and say you decide in reading time not to use that particular text for the 5 marker - then only read enough to find enough techniques/quotes, don't waste...

bolded part pretty much guarantees you the marks, but it takes a lot of time - essentially close to double the time....... so, imo, stick to fleshing out one technique per mark with well elaborated effect and link back to Q/thesis

Just letting you know, Carret, that I was only joking haha! :) but yes thinking time needed by us students for a BOS 4u paper needs to be much more than an hour lol.

I have an idea - Even though Carret has set the paper, because we know the paper is going to be very time-consuming (in part, due to immense difficulty) and no-one will finish, Carret why don't you sit the paper with everyone else in exam conditions? and see how many questions you can complete...
