Again, I know how crap you're feeling but fundamentally they CAN pull stuff like this on you. HSC culture usually works to the student's advantage/ease, however when you get to uni they make it clear that nothing's their fault and they can screw you over :p Probably why I'm so blase about this...

Technically yes it is fair, and technically you should have started preparing long before this so that the loss of one weekend is not catastrophic :( Having been on the student's side, it sucks like you would not believe (because there's the whole leave-it-to-the-last-minute culture going on)...
