A distinction average at MQ is 4/4 GPA (because they count HDs as Ds). UAC looks at your marks not your GPA so just aim for an average mark of 75 across your subjects like previously mentioned.
Depends entirely on what courses you're doing, some have participation marks but I've never seen them worth that much (wouldn't shock me if they were though). For some courses its just a time to do worksheets etc where you can get help from the tutor. For others they're actively teaching you...
It would be similar to the American college experience, most ppl live in uni accom/colleges and in general social events would be at house parties instead of clubs and bars.
Can you do b. com at mq? Cutoff was low 80s iirc and they give out a lot of bonus points. You can do all the core units required for appfin in the commerce degree so you aren't wasting time/money, then transfer after 1 semester or 1 year. I do appfin/bcom (prof. accounting) and most of the...
For undergrad both are more or less the same, so pick the uni that you prefer based on other things like location/friends/campus etc. For postgrad the rankings (which are based off postgrad research) are more important so you'd probably go for unsw.
For undergrad commerce the difference in reputation between those two unis is negligible. UNSW's higher rep for commerce comes from its postgrad programs like the MBA. Not sure about law. Pick the uni that appeals most to you.
When you say 'IB', are you referring to just M&A, or all the other front/middle office divisions of an investment bank (trading, research, risk management etc)
The Macquarie course is pretty similar to the plain commerce at USYD/UNSW, its main difference being that it is 4 years instead of 3, and that its structure is very rigid (in that you get less electives). What this does however is guarantees that you qualify for ASIC's RG 146 and CPA/CA etc...
At Macquarie, they count Ds as HDs in the calculation of your GPA ie if you get all Ds or HDs, your GPA is 4.0/4.0.
Does anyone know why do/can Macquarie do this?
Or how this impacts how employers look at your resume etc when applying for a job?
I'm at Macquarie so I'm not complaining...
Slightly off topic, but do unis usually let you take 2 majors in com in a com/arts degree as well as the arts major?
In regards to OP, sure if you'd like to work there in the future go ahead and learn the language, but I reckon it would be easier to get a few years experience in Australia...
I reckon the WWI will be on one of these:
-big 3
-reasons for allied victory
-impact on women
-turning points
Hoping for women, turning points would be a noose
Felt pretty good coming out of the exam
My predictions:
D. Voices: 15-17/20
Witness: 18-19/20
Into the World: 18-19/20
I think I did well in paper 1 too, maybe 38/45?
So thats what, around 89/105- you reckon I can get a b6?
1. Don't know anything about Maestro
2. Witness: The question is going to be something do with differing values of Book and Rachel/America and Amish cultures. Makes sure you know about them. I've focussed my essay around conflicting values between the two cultures, and I can mold it to fit most...
