Business & Economics Subject Review Thread

A bit late to the party, but: Unit Code: ECON111 (now ECON1020) Difficulty: Easy (but the marking criteria for the assignment can be a bit hard to gage) Lecturer: Paul Crosby Tutor: Matteo Malavasi Year and Semester Taken: 2019 S2 Workload: Light - read FREE textbook chapter (and do the minimal...

This is news to me! Genuinely interested to know what is wrong with MQ2020? I'm doing Prof. Accounting (which no longer requires the core Marketing & Management first level subjects, and now has a blockchain subject) & Advanced IT (a new degree where you can do some research - but is otherwise...

I just did a quiz and didn't get time to press either save and review, or submit. I was looking over my responses and time was up before I had the chance (though I selected answers for all questions). Does this mean nothing went through??

I'm not Ben - but I did PHL137 when I was in year 11 (part of GAT) and most of the stuff I learnt in it stuck with me and all the people I know who did it got HD. Highly recommend if Albert Atkin is still doing it.

Thanks Zoinked, I've found an email address - I believe the unit convenor is Paul Crosby. How should you address lecturers/tutors/unit convenors in emails?

Thanks Zoinked - just to clarify, I like economics and it's kind of nice you can use the free CORE online textbook for the unit. I'll still have to do economics next year, it's just a different unit (Principles of Economics I) and with the 10 cp weighting (and all that new stuff coming in 2020)...

    MQ Chatter Thread

Hi all, I will be starting the Bachelor of Commerce - Professional Accounting either this semester or session 1 2020. I would only be doing ECON111 if I started this semester. Could anyone give me any insight into whether I'm better off waiting for the new subjects and degree structure in 2020...

Any tips on Applied Finance vs Business Analytics? I'll be pairing either one with Professional Accounting. I got the BA/Accounting offer - I've accepted and changed my preferences to get the Applied Finance as well (rounds for Session 2). Would anyone be able to tell me which one would...

What time are evening classes usually on? Also, if there's only a day class option for a unit, are teachers flexible at all if you work full-time? Specifically looking at Business Analytics classes. Appreciate any help on this, thanks.

    2018 HSC+ATAR results discussion Thread

You should maybe look into doing a diploma at TAFE or something and then transferring - it'll take time off your degree anyway AND it's so much cheaper. Regardless of my ATAR, I'm doing that for my course and I've already got employment because of it :)...

    2018 HSC+ATAR results discussion Thread

In case anyone's interested: 92.5 - without any band 6s (surprising) What ATAR calculators told me: Talent 100 = 93.75 The only thing that saved me were internals Here's my marks: Exam/Internal/HSC/band Advanced English = 79/85/82/5 Financial Services = 85/5 (No internals - kind of weird...

What does band E stand for in prelim

http://educationstandards.nsw.edu.au/wps/portal/nesa/11-12/Understanding-the-curriculum/awarding-grades It says they use samples aligned from grade A to E. And I think grade A is the highest.

    Post-HSC Bucket List

Parent's combined income has to be under $100,000. I wouldn't substitute it for work, I'm just saying it's nice to have on top of a job, if you're not making much per fortnight (< $500)

If you want alright money for no work, get Youth Allowance. $200+ a fortnight, and you can keep getting it as long as your other income is < $500 and you're studying full-time (OR looking for full-time work).

Carrotsticks' Extension 2 HSC 2018 Solutions + Memes

This is coming from someone who skipped anything that looked like mechanics, conics or any other question that required heaps of thought. But I reckon there were a lot of easy marks in there. I haven't done past papers so I don't know if it's common, but yeah without studying I reckon you could...
