From what I’ve heard, don’t do medical science. I didn’t choose medical science based on the job prospects, because at the end of the day if I finished my degree and did not get into medicine, I would be stuck with no job. This might be different now but this is what people have told me. Happy...
I’m a first year, so my placement was just clinical observation 1 day a week for 4 weeks for semester 2, but unfortunately that got cancelled (not really too detrimental tbh). The most challenging part about COVID is the practical side of physio, which is a bit unfortunate. It would have been so...
For sure, I’m even considering doing the full degree! At the time, I only knew physio as a way to get into med, but now I see how impactful of a career it is. At times, it’s a bit tiresome because of how much stuff there is, but I don’t think I would trade it for anything.
If you would like to know, I’m in the same boat as you in terms of medicine and I have chosen physiotherapy at ACU. I’ve chosen this because of the subjects, just as they have listed to prepare me for the medicine course. While this would inevitable make it harder to achieve a good wam, it would...
In my experience there is some amount of content prescribed by the syllabus dot points, but yes the majority is research. For content, look up the NSW education website and you should find some amazing and reliable resources. For stats, I recommend the WSU science extension lectures (on YouTube).
At first a bit disappointed, but now really happy! Can get into UNSW advanced science (selection points!), although I originally want to get into USYD.
Estimating an ATAR of 93.60. I got band 6's in chemistry (90- assessment mark dragged it down) and maths advanced (93). Honestly, was only disappointed with science extension, maths ext. and physics, pretty happy with everything else.
I don't think I can cope with the anxiety of knowing I can access my marks easily... I'm bit nervous but I'm confident I'll get an ATAR above 80 and get into my course.
I say do it. I will definitely do this, just to get an idea of what range my ATAR will be in. I'm gonna use HSC ninja ATAR calculator, I've heard it's very accurate. It doesn't really matter what you do though, so do what you like :)
A bit late to the party but honestly feel the exam to mostly consist of calculations and explanation of concepts. Regurgitation of content will be required, for sure, but there will be a lot of calculations :). I make this prediction based on the chemistry exam, of which there were a lot of...
Honestly, this thread was such an amazing resource for me (and definitely for others!) in the past few months, especially in the past week. I can honestly say that I would not have performed at my best capabilities without this thread :). Hopefully you will get better soon. Your efforts have...
This happened to me in maths 2U and extension 1. The anxiety and everything really impeded my ability and made me lose so many marks.
Fortunately, this did not happen in chemistry, I just started to breathe deeply and things just kept rolling :).
