i ultimately think that King Lear is about his personal development as a person without the glory of being king and that by having the subplot of Glouster and his own domestic problems it sort of parallel's Lear's issues just so that the Elizabetham/Jacobean audience wouldnt get bored. do you guys think its necessary to watch an actual performance of the play? coz we're watchin the dvd already in call but like we've still gonna watch the production. that one at bondi was like recommended we go... but i dont think i wanna now lol

What are you currently doing in the prelim course? We did Ovid's Pygmalion and then Bernard Shaw's play on the same thing; was good but the HSC course gets so much better =)

i thought this might be a good way to exchange intelligent thought on Sally Potter's 'Orlando'. I find the text a little difficult to wrap my head around so maybe we can all rub off a bit on each other.. Ill start and hopefully a chain reaction LOL How does 'Orlando' foreground issues...

what exaclty were you able to find on sparknotes? coz i was looking on that site for info. on various readings but didnt find much. Maybe im not using the site properly any tips?
