10 units... is it too risky?

This is how I see dropping to 10 units in the HSC (from someone who should have) ... If you are talented and dedicated enough, drop to 10 units (leaving behind the subject you least excel at) and you can work all the more effectively for those subjects, master them, and really push yourself...

    Sources

Yeah you dont actually have to quote the source, maybe paraphrase some of it to reference, but slabs of quotes wont win you any friends in the marking centre!

    Sources

Ur teacher is off his face! lol no offence, sure he's a good bloke, but not all sources are unreliable. They're all reliable to different degrees! And yeah i would right a small introduction! I'd just quicky answer the Q and briefly outline where you are heading with your response

Re: Mindmaps for everything?? I've been told doing notes in as many formats as possible seriously boosts your marks! I would do detailled notes under syllabus dot points, then maybe a summarised mind map. If you wanted you could instead create a shorter summary, some flash cards, mp3s, posters...

Question about dropping from Advanced to Standard(English)

I wouldn't drop to Standard, simply because it is so hard to get the grade you'll (they only give around 20 Band 6's in the state!) English Advanced continues to be a subject where you can mould a memorised essay in the exam and get top marks! I'd work with your teacher to come up with these...

    Belonging-Reading Task

Everything said above is spot on! The most important thing I found was knowing as many techniques as possible! That will save you a lot of time in a test as you can pick them out so easily! Then just link to the question or idea on belonging! Now you just have to do as many past papers as...
